Pop beauty BRITNEY SPEARS is eager to join the cast of the next X-MEN movie -and is reportedly seeking a non-speaking role.

The OOPS!...I DID IT AGAIN singer - whose debut film CROSSROADS was a critical flop - is reportedly in talks to provide a show-stopping cameo in the third installment of the hit sci-fi franchise.

A source close to the singer tells British magazine NEW, "She knows that sci-fi is big and she believe this is the right movie to be seen in."

This is the third movie the SLAVE 4 U singer has been attached to in recent months.

She has been linked to the role of DAISY in a film adaptation of TV series DUKES OF HAZZARD, and she's also slated to be the love interest in a motor racing movie reminiscent of TOM CRUISE hit DAYS OF THUNDER.

I really thought this was funny to see. If I could picture Spears as any mutant it would probably be Dazzler. Let's hope this remains a cameo.

I think this could work, maybe her being hacked to bits by Wolverine!....nah she's not worth it. She can eye it all she wants, hopefully they'll keep her away from it.

Before this thread really gets going I feel the need to point out that even if she was in 1/4 of the movie it would be virtually impossible for Britney Spears to destroy X-Men.

Hey, she's even worse than Halle Berry in acting, why does she need to be in X3? She's just doing it because X1 and X2 were such big hits. The only movie she's done well in is the end of her Cameo in Goldmember. She couldn't even take that stunt herself.

I don't really care...its just a cameo. If a cameo can ruin a movie, than the movie must not be good to begin with.

Truer words were never spoken. Well, actually they were but.. er.. hey! good point! lol

Honestly, I don't see why she can't be in there if its a non speaking role. If it's a background character or something that only has about a 30 second role, I don't see the need to get all twisted up because of that. The only thing that would be annoying is if they used her cameo in every one of the trailers to build up hype. That would be the last thing we'd need, but yeah, if it's a small 30 second role, then I have no problems

You know... this is stupid. And not the news about Britney. I could care less if she had a cameo, but it's disappointing how predictably disastrous this thread is turning out. Well, the news is out there, and now you know. Thread closed.
