    New AOL Commercial

    Like This Thread!
    Does anyone else think that AOL animated buddy commercial is the next "gum commercial"?
    I remember hating that commercial with a passion usually reserved for bad fast food....and it would come on at least once a commercial break....does this new aol commercial have the potential to engender the kind of distatse previously reserved for that horrible gum commercial?

    I remember that gum commercial. It aired all the time during Saturday ASA. "Come on you old lady!" Anyway, I hate the new AOL commercial too. You know that frog that says, "hiya!" It used to sound more like a croak when it said it. [off topic] Anyone ever notice how C. Martin Croker's voice actually sounds croaky? [/off topic] But now it sounds like a computer animated voice. I liked the old one and I hate the new one. I could actually understand when those people were laughing at the old frog, but this new one just sucks.

    AOL commercials are over-ran no matter what time of day it is on CN not just during AS. My computer can't run 9.0 thankfully so no super(annoying)buddys for me

    I liked the anime AOL ad.

    Well more ads because AOL is still slipping in dial-up subscribers and their broadband ventures aren't doing as well as they'd hoped.

    Aye, AOL might had a lawsuit thrown at them because it sounded similar to a character from a show. I have no evidence to support this claim, so... *shrug*

    The old frog voice was frigging cool and funny. This one is MEH!

    Hmm I wonder how long this thread will stay open.

    Well I don't know what this has to do with AS, but I pretty much loathe AOL anyway. (well, except for AIM but partially because everyone has it so its standard for chatting) But considering who owns CN.....

    BTW: The "Jack Sloan" ad was a double venture of AOL and Deutsche Telecom/T-Mobile. So it sort of is an AOL ad, but it isn't.

    I must be the only one who actually likes the Juicy Fruit commercial. Sure, it was repeated ad nauseum during Adult Swim, but I crack up at the really abrupt ending- "Come on you old lady!" "Whoooaaaahhh!!" And the Monks ad wasn't THAT annoying- the AOL ad I found NAUSEATING was the one where it looked like the AOL logo had sex with a woman. That was in poor taste. Haven't seen the new one, though...

    perhaps it is because I mostly watch Adult Swim, and not the rest of cartoon network as often (got to sleep sometime, out here AS doesn't start until MIdnight ) so the Ads they show during Adult Swim, especially the truly annoying ones (such as the juicy fruit commercial) also become a part of what I remember about AS....I remember being so annoyed at that juicy fruit Ad some nights that I would consider not watching AS just to get away from it!

    Maybe if they didn't have all those High Tech commercials, like the ones with the poilce cars and stuff, they could lower thier prices, not just for dial up.. but also for broadband
