They already had a Wolverine spin-off. It was called X2.
Seriously, I just don't see a solo Wolverine movie working out good. It is going to happen, there is no stopping that, but I can't see any way that it'll be good.
But thats just me.
Now then
It may be old news to some but FOX officialy wants Jackman to sign on to play Wolverine again in a spin off. Here the word from www.superherohype.com
We've just recieved word, that 20th Century Fox is looking to sign a two-picture deal w/ X2 actor, Hugh Jackman. Although few of X2's actors are slated to return, Hugh is the only original cast member, that is being offered a new deal, for two films. Though the exact price is unknown, we hear that the full price would equal to around $20 million. The two-picture deal would include X3, and a WOLVERINE spin-off film. Or, should Wolverine not appear in X3, then it would go towards two WOLVERINE films.
A Wolverine film would be great. Hope he signs, don't think X-Men 3 would work without him

Might as well give Wolverine his own movie he already has his own video games and comic.
I think it could be fun. Who knows. The quality is dependent on a lot of things, but I know Jackman will be good despite it all.

No doubt Jackman is great as Wolverine, but I'd like to see that spotlight on other X-Men for the next film.
Now I am not of the camp that complains about the amount of time that Wolverine has gotten in X-Men and X2, but I really have to question how this would go over.
The people that pack theaters for Wolverine also see him as part of the X-Men and not a stand alone hero. I just don't see how you can take the character out of the franchise and still make it work. Could Wolverine really carry a story that doesn't have any of the X-Men?

Its hard enough to get a good solo Wolverine out of the comics, and a lot of the time its when another X-Man guest stars. Though that could only be because of the writers, it still doesn't mean we'll get a good story JUST from Wolverine. X-Men work as a whole.
Now Xavier, on the other hand...
I'm not looking forward to it. X-Men and X2 already focused way to much on Wolverine and I'm sure X3 will have a whole bunch of Wolvie. I just wish they'd focuse on some of the characters more.

Wolverine's had hundreds of solo adventures in the comics. A solo movie would be awesome.
This sounds like a bad idea, not unlike that Jinx spin-off with Halle Berry. I don't think either character alone will have the box office muscle of the franchises that created them. Maybe they should stick with the team.
I don't know about this. I mean, I loved the movies and I liked Wolverine, but I always saw him as just part of the group. Apparently the more popular one, but I can't picture him as anything but one of the X-Men.

that's exactly why we're not too keen on the idea, WE'RE SICK OF WOLVERINE! or at least I amOriginally Posted by Hatter
... i agree with others here, they should focus on other players instead of wolverine.

a Wolverine movie well let see how X3 does if X3 fails then no Wolverine movie. if X3 is on top then yes make a Wolverine movie.
If it will give us more focus on the other X-Men in the future movies, then I'm all for it.
Surprised to see people not too fond of this, personnaly.
Don't see why everyone complains about Wolverine, say what you like about the others needing more screen time, he's easily been the best part of the 2 very good films.
I look forward to seeing it, especially as the producers are trying to bring in Lady Deathstrike and possibly Sabertooth.
Make a Wolverine & Doop movie :anime:
How appropriate. You fight like a cow
Give us one more X-Men movie, to form a complete trilogy. I'd love to see the original cast do just one more movie, and then Fox can do whatever they want with it. Just one more solid movie.
Hate it. I've been saying this and ranting about this for four years. Wolverine had his solo movies and they are called X-Men and X2 and also the upcoming X3. FOX is only doing this is to milk in Hugh Jackman and the character. I wouldn't have so much hatred for this idea if FOX and Singer branched out all the characters like they are suppose to. This is one movie I won't be seeing.

A solo Wolverine movie? I think it could work. I just hope it would mean that if they had one there would not be such a Wolverine focus in X3.
