PowerRangers:Ninjastorm "I love lother" Talkback
Here's this week's talkback for powerranger's:ninja storm "I love lother"
-
Well...the old tv show sitcom gimmick was not funny to me, but seeing Marah outside of her alien spaceship getup was nice.
I am dismayed that Lothor would just up and leave Tori like that. Here you have a ranger tied up, at your mercy, and you just leave the building without thinking about it. What is this, the old 60's Batman?
Cam vs Hunter was okay. Although, somehow I expected more out of the battle.
Nice to see the Thunders getting a zord battle to themselves (well, almost). New zord combination scenes are usually good, but this one left me feeling flat. But I did like Hunter's new weapon combination with his staff and his secondary weapon (I don't know its name).
I liked Sensei's comment about how Lothor was too late in brainwashing the public with television
.
An average episode, didn't hate it, but didn't particularly love it. I guess because I was tired today. 2.5 stars is all I can give.

Yes.
I was wondering when they were gonna do this episode, the jokes were okay and the memories of MMPR was right there. If only this series was going somewhere with the plot......and the villans.......man I miss Jindrax, Toxica, and Master Org for some reason(well, more so Jindrax and Toxica
They'd put these Ninja Rangers through a real fight).
-
I have to agree to whats been said. Why in the world should Lothor give a hoot what people think of him? He should be ploting on how to defeat the rangers and take over the world. Is it just me or is Lothors past self more evil than the current one. Dr. Adler(AKA Master Org) was a much better villian.
-
We're half way through this series, and personally I can't see Lothor going all out evil on us like Adler did in The Master's Last Stand(that was hands down one of the best PR episodes EVER). I have a feeling that when I look back on this series, I will say that it was an okay series, but it didn't go anywhere. What does Lothor really want, do these kids really want to be rangers(they sure do have alot of spare time). This teams reminds me of the Gaoranger in that they are easily distracted. Whether it be Dustin and the Thunders with their hobbies, and the others with what they do, it doesn't seem like any of them have any intentions of stopping Lothor for good....instead, the rangers, and Lothor himself, does nothing but sit around and wait for someone to make a move. It's okay for what it is(a light hearted series), but at times it reminds me of why I started to get sick of MMPR up until the first half of PR: Turbo.
-
I hated Wild Force so much, I'd rate it as one of the worst seasons ever (excluding the team ups, which I hear were written by a fan.) Horrible acting all around, especially the princess and Kite. the plot and the Rangers were horribly dull.
But Jindrax, Toxica, and Master Org are a whole lot better villians than Lothor and his gang. They're just plain lame. Baboo and Squat lame, if you remember them. Kiya was probably as badass as Master Org, but now as the old fart Lothor, he sucks.
But I will say the actors in Ninja Storm are the best in a long time, since they can all speak properly (even despite the extreme sports theme, they don't sit around fighting to enunciate their words properly.) The plots are all pure fun as well, (heh, acne wash.)
Fun episode, although I heard in the Sentai version the Green v. Navy duel was harsher. This one time I wish they had relied on Sentai footage.
Television Blows. So enjoy it.
"
I imagine this will be the last time we speak..." David Palmer to a fugitive Jack Bauer in last year's season finale.
"
Allow me to put on my analrapy stocking for just a second..."-Tobias Funke, analrapist, on his new branch of psychology mixing analysis and therapy.

What was so dull about WF's plot? At least it had a plot unlike NS so far. The Zen-aku story arc and the whole Dr. Adler/ Master Org senario were some best story arcs to come out of PR IMHO.

Those were story arcs more then the plot for the series.
I loved tis episode, the Lothorr sitcom bit seemed to drag along but every other part was fun. Did anyone catch the spell wearing off while Blake was fighting, that he was using his passion for Tori to kick ass? Loved it. I liked the whole zord scene aswell, the sixth ranger's zord hasn't made a proper combo since PRLR.
Lothor overall dosen't suck, he just not impatient like Master Org.
Why did he leave Tori? Well from the looks of it things were under control and leaving didn't seem like a bad idea at the time.
Trust me on this one factoid, these villians will get better and more devious, Lothor namely. I know we're pretty far along in the series, but I didn't care for Adler untill much later in PRWF, maybe many of you`ll like Lothor at the end how I liked Adler in the end, we all just have to wait and see.
Three Ninja Cookies
Just a side note, the latest ratings report says that PRNS BEAT the Mummy last week placing PR BACK in the top ten, PRWF and PRNS early eps didn`t do this well, interesting
Lookiing forward too next weeks "Good Will Hunter"

Power Rangers Ninja Storm "I Love Lothor" Talkback
Since no one else has bothered to start a topic yet, I guess that means.. I will.
This was a great episode. The arguing between Blake and Cam over Tori was great. The verbal assualts were almost as cool as the fighting and the food fight was cool. It gave us another great chance for a good unmorphed battle between Blake and Cam and the morphed battle between the Navy and Green Rangers was great too.
I'm really liking how every episode of Ninja Storm has something enjoyable and something to laugh at. I loved the whole Lothor trying to be a TV star part. It was so funny watching the lovesick mob. It was funny, when they started chasing angrily after Dustin, Shane, and Hunter.
The Samurai Thunder Megazord was awesome. Overall, this is one of my favorite episodes. Mr. Ratwell was a good idea.
They also had some funny lines like Lothor's "What does makeup and lipstick have to do with world domination" comment, and Marah says "Well, it worked for Britany and Christina.
The other funny line was when Tori said.. "Lothor's trying to brainwash the world with television." and Sensei said "Well, he's a little late for that.."

Lothor wasn't even aware they had captured Tori. When one of the others tried to tell Lothor that they captured a Ranger, he was busy and wouldn't listen to them.
Cam vs Hunter was okay. Although, somehow I expected more out of the battle.
It was BLAKE, not Hunter.

Once again it was BLAKE.

I like Power Rangers Ninjastorm for what it is, a simple battle of good against evil. While I do wish they would be more focus on rescuing the various Ninja schools, I realize that an "epic" story arc is not the focus of this series and I don't mind. I find myself enjoying Ninjastorm and its characters more than Wild Force.
I Love Lothor was a fun story. I'm glad that brought up the Cam-Tori-Blake triangle early and settle it quickly without dragging it out. It's obvious that Blake is interested in Tori romantically, while Cam and Tori are just friends. I can't wait to see how this relationship develops.
I actually thought Lothor had a good scheme this time around but the Producer should have just let Cam and Blake fight it out to its inevitable conclusion.
Shane, Hunter, and Dustin had a wish come true when a bunch of women chasing after them, too bad they wanted to destroy them.
I'm enjoying Ninjastorm so far. The weakest episodes tend to be the final part of their multi-part episodes (talking about dragging stories out). Wild Force never had too many character based episodes. In fact, when people think about Wild Force they tend to think about the arc but ask them about the characters they will draw a blank. Ninjastorm has become appointment television in my eyes.

Well said and if I say that's also kinda sad when you look at the series as a whole.
PRWF had some of the greatest moments in PR history, but it lacked the characters just about every series prior had. What I mean about character doesn't refer to PRTF or PRIS big arcs and melodrama, I mean that each PR series has had it's own theme and it's own heroes. We learn what these said heroes do with this theme[cars, space, ninjas etc] and watch the show through to the end and see how everything panns out.
With PRWF it seemed they weren't much more then what was given to us in a few episodes, which wasn't very much was it? Danny had all but three episodes to himself and the third was shared by Max.
If you look through PR's sagas and mythos, theres something interesting about each Ranger, Jason's integrity, Tommy's constant heroics and stubborness, even Andros' angst. PRWF didn't present that much to look back to, unless you count Cole and his parents, Merrick past and the villians.
This is why I like PRNS.
You know what? I don`t see these villians as being "that" silly or bumbling, because for me we're just seeing what every villian does in their spare time when they arent plotting against the rangers. They still kick butt when push comes to shove. We're just seeing more into the daily lives of these villians from their point of view, where as with Master Org he seemed to always be plotting REVENGE! REVENGE! REVENGE!. I liked the Adler story and it's execution for the most part was well written, I hated Master Org's character with a passion though. Why did I hate him? He was the first real cookie cutter villian PR had in a long time[last one being Vypra] as in he had a one track mind untill we learned of his murdering of Cole's parents.
Lothor is funny and devious, Grant MacFairland has been acting for 30 years! He knows his stuff.
Lothor is great villian because he a thinker and he`s a happy evil doer kind of guy that's just has pure class. This is why I love PRNS more then many PR's, theres a certain level of individual character that stands out and doesn`t really need a story arc to show it. Maybe thats why some of the story arcs drag, because we already have a pretty above par idea of who these people are.

Wow, I didn't realize he has been acting for that long. I noticed he's pretty good. I really like the direction PRNS is going.. The acting is superb, the characters are superb.. and who doesn't love ninjas?
-
People don't refer to the big arcs of Time Force because Time Force had some of the crummiest overplot writing PR has ever endured. The saving grace of the season was the characters, and even that doesn't make some of the eps particularly watchable.
I never got the feeling that we didn't "know" the PRWF. I thought I knew them as well as I knew any other cast in any other season. Oh, Cole, Taylor, and Merrick had the most backstory realized -- but about three Rangers inevitably dominate EVERY season of the show. PRTF is about Jen, Wes, and Eric. Reinforcements got that so well that the others are basically glorified cameos in the first part of the story.
Master Org is a cookie-cutter villain whereas Lothor is incredibly nuanced and complex. Grife. Detach your lips from people's posteriors, Jack. It's not becoming. I found Kiya Watanabe incredibly compelling, but Lothor I find reasonably amusing. Here's hoping we see Grant put a little of what Daniel did in later episodes.
But Adler... Adler was just a man that had his hopes and dreams taken away from him. The Animarian Expedition, Elizabeth, prestige as a scientist, etc. Richard unwittingly caused him nothing but pain. And Viktor paid the price for his actions by ingesting the seeds. He was nothing more than a puppet for Master Org's own revenge. Kiya seemed to have some reason for becoming a villain, but we haven't seen it yet. We watched Viktor's pain play out before us.
I don't think it's comparable. Master Org has probably the most human origin of any PR villain. With the right push, that's to prevent us from starting down the road he did? That origin doesn't even have a villain for its impetus -- Richard never meant Viktor any harm, they were friends. But that friendship was destroyed by circumstance.
