    "WWE SmackDown!" Talkback (Spoilers)

    Like This Thread!
SD! will hit the air on UPN is just under one hour. How will WWE follow-up the "Holy !" moment from last week as they celebrate their 200th episode? Tune in to find out!

    A BIG REMATCH
    SmackDown! preview 6/19/03

As the late Gorilla Monsoon used to say, "the ring will have to be reinforced for this one," as Big Show and Brock Lesnar square of in a rematch of last week's WWE Championship match. Hopefully, the ring will be able to withstand the punishment these two mammoths will undoubtedly put it through.

Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio will be jumping weight classes this Thursday to take on the much larger Kanyon.

Finally, Undertaker will go one-on-one with Nunzio of F.B.I. The chances of this bout staying one-on-one, however, will undoubtedly be slim, as everybody knows the F.B.I. travel in threes.

that speech was so..so moving steph...but i think it's safe to say that she doesn't have to worry about making up an acceptance speech come oscar night.

btw: with those acting skills, if zack never gets his contract he's always got a home in adult films and daytime soaps

wow, was that bradshaw?? i thought for a minute this was the debute of a new apa consisting of farooq and will ferrell...

i guess they can start calling torrie the 'booty babe' any wrestlecrap/wcw fans should remember that horrendous gimmick lol...

great ending despite the fact that big show was the only man left standing...

well as of now, it looks like vengance will shape up like this:

    o'haire/piper vs. eddy/tajiri tag titles

    f.b.i vs. apa/taker

hogan(mr.america ) vs. big show...maybe some kind of stip thrown in where if hogan wins zacky boy gets a contract and if he loses, he finally loses the mask.

    lesnar vs. angle world title

and i'm going to go out on a limb right now and predict matt hardy as the new u.s champ

I was thinking more of Dennis Quaid myself.

I was pretty happy with SmackDown! this week, but at the same time I was rather surprised that John Cena, Matt Hardy, Shannon Moore, Crash and even A-Train were missing from this week’s show. Either Velocity is gonna be really good this week or I’m set to be displeased. The show might deserve a better rating, but when you leave off my two favorite heels (no I’m not talking about A-Train) you gotta lose some points.

The opening was very well done with all the angles and sound versions of Lesnar and Show crashing to the mat.

The match between Undertaker and Nunzio was the next logical step in this feud and I couldn’t help but laugh as Nunzio made the sign of the cross when he knew the last ride was coming. I was thinking the F.B.I. would need to add someone else to make this feud go on, but the return of the APA was a nice surprise. Bradshaw and Ron “don’t call me Faarooq” Simmons should spice up this feud. But what the heck happened to Bradshaw?!

“SmackDown! presents Vengeance” thank goodness it isn’t “Stephanie McMahon presents Vengeance.” It’s obvious WWE was trying to take advantage of Austin’s name with Bad Blood, but it just wouldn’t have worked with Steph and Vengeance.

The new United States Championship looks sharp! WWE found a winner with the redesign (I don’t think WCW knew what a redesign was).

Benoit vs. Rhyno was a great way to kick off the tournament and they put on an excellent match (despite the Rhyno rest holds ). I found it interesting though that throughout their problems it has always been Benoit getting upset at Rhyno making a mistake and here it was Rhyno that was acting like the jerk.

My high hopes of Kanyon finally appearing on SD! was destroyed when he was “currently in the ring.” He didn’t even get on the mic and Cole was the one to tell us his great story that’s he’s told on Velocity as he searches for the one better than Kanyon.

That feature on Madison Square Garden this week on Confidential should be pretty cool. That’s at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday.

I’m a big fan of Haas & Benjamin’s new ring attire. The combination of Seton Hall’s silver and U of M’s maroon is clever and looks sharp.

Angle vs. Haas really picked up as the match went on the reversals towards the finish worked very well. I still don’t know that I’m real keen on Brock and Kurt being friends, but the WWE Champion running out Charlie and Shelton worked.

Sable sure was all over Zach! The kid wasn’t overly believable when he was telling Sable he wanted her, but you could argue he was nervous (the character, not the real person). Sable’s slap and Vince storming was once again just so evil I found it hard not to laugh.

As much as I like Billy Gunn and Torrie together I’m afraid it won’t work. The crowd seemed a lot more concerned with chanting for puppies and actually booed Billy when he pulled Torrie off of Nidia. I guess we’ll have to see though. I still think that Gunn’s character works perfectly with a valet (now if only he could hold the ropes right).

O’Haire and Eddie was great follow-up to Piper’s Pit last week and it was awesome when Piper blinded Tajiri with the tequila. Kind of poetic justice in a way.

Seriously there is something about sadistically evil Vince that I can’t help but find funny. His ‘celebration’ of sorts with Sable was funny in that evil sort of way. Stephanie’s rant at her dad was dang close to “too much information” but it still manages to feel very real and at this point it’s tough to tell how it made Vince feel. No matter what happens, things always seem to circle back to Vince loving his family. We’ll have to see…

Lesnar vs. Show 800 made for a decent rematch from last week, but it was really about the outside interference at the end. Brock interfering earlier in the night made the Haas & Benjamin run-in work perfectly and Angle coming out to help against his former protégés was excellent. I was honestly expecting Mr. America to come next week after an Angle & Lesnar vs. Haas & Benjamin match next week, but Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle & Mr. America vs. Big Show, Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin should make a good main event for MSG.
