    Who is Willie the Worker?

    Like This Thread!
Someone brought up Willie the Worker in the Raw thread. I'd posted some thoughts, but realized it was a little off-topic, so moved them here.

For those of you who don't know, Willie the Worker is a supposed disgruntled WWE wrestler who's a little bitter and has started posting columns to 1wrestling. 1wrestling can't confirm his identity, just that the columns are fun reads. If you haven't read them, here is his first guest column followed by his first regular column, the latter of which has a link to the columns he's done since then.

There are two big reasons why this could be fake, IMO. The first column appeared on April Fools Day, and the columnist gives out way too many clues the first time out. It's probably just be some geek like me who tried to play a joke on 1wrestling, and can't believe the whole world is buying into this. But hey, it's fun to pretend this could be true and speculate at Willie's identity.

I said he gives out too many clues. Specifically, he gave us three important pieces of info about himself in his very first column:

    * He was not on the card at Wrestlemania, not even for a run-in (and doesn't appear to consider the Heat match part of WM) but was backstage
    * He's been with the company many years
    * He claims that more of his merchandise was sold at WM than Albert (Has there ever been an Albert shirt? Okay, the guy moves some merchandise. That's something)

I figure it has to be D-Von or Bubba Ray Dudley, Test, Rikishi, or Jeff Hardy. Jeff was mentioned in the most recent update, but that could've been just to throw people off his trail since Willie gave *so* much info away about himself.

Less likely but I don't know enough about merchandise sales to rule them out: Al Snow? (TE merchandise?) Funaki? Spike Dudley? Farooq and Bradshaw?

Tajiri has merchandise, but would not likely be writing this himself. Goldust is a possibility if he's ignoring his hiatus years. That whole shock thing did screw with his brain and all.

All of the following I discount completely. Crash and Hardcore Holly, Chuck Palumbo, Mark Henry, Tajiri, Sean Morely, and Steven Richard, aren's selling a dime of merchandise. Kane and RVD were mentioned as other people being held down in Willie's first post. Hurricane was mentioned by one Internet icon, but I wouldn't call 2001 "many years", hence the reason I've ignored about a dozen other ECW/WCW guys who migrated in 2001.

That's all I've got. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Well after fighting off 1Wrestling's pop-up ads I read the first regular column and read the WrestleMania one again. Then I thought about it and decided...

There is nothing in either of those columns that you can't find on the internet! It took me like two seconds to find A-Train's real name is Matt Bloom and I bet it's even on the 1Wrestling site (I didn't dare check with all those dang pop-ups). Heck I could have written that only it would have been better written. This could be the rant of a bitter fan or Dave Scherer himself just as easily as it could be a current WWE Superstar.

My prediction is this is none other than... Brother Love!! That or some humanoid who has nothing to with World Wrestling Entertainment other than he watches it every week and doesn't like what he sees, your choice.

I think it's a fake, but for the fun of it I'll bite with my notices.

    1. The man's on Smackdown. Why would anyone care if Albert's getting a push if you're on Raw. It's not taking away from your air time. Not to mention he went off about Sable as well, and anyone in the Raw locker room wouldn't really be that concerned over if she has an ego or not. Not to mention he mentioned the only real Raw wrestler he mentioned was RVD.

    2. Most the Smackdown roster is newer guys, so that takes away most of them.

    3. He bashes big men, so Rikishi's sorta out of the question.

So that pretty much leaves you with no one. Your guess is as good as mine.

Well, the fact that he said that he's been with the company for several years leads me to believe that he was probabbly around when Rena was there the first time. 90% of the locker room had heat with Rena, so bringing her back I'm sure would be frowned upon by anyone who was there at the time. Especially when promising workers are released for a has been like her. And he actually did mention Booker T and Hurrican recently. Honestly, I don't know if there legit or not, but lots of people such as Keller, and Meltzer and others have confirmed this is what most wrestlers in the locker room are thinking. So there could be some validity to it.

You can read on the internet that a lot of wrestlers are unhappy with how things are currently going. I still have a lot of doubts about this being an actual wrestler.
