If Tejada does join the Yankees, that would just start up an unruly balance in the AL. I would like to see that. See them get slaughtered that is! Nope, I won’t go there now.
Not likely to happen but crazier trades have happened:
With the prospect of Jeter being done for '03, the Yanks might aggressivley pursue a trade for Miguel Tejada...then move him to 3rd next season.
Of course, this would just peeve everyone.
But the A's doomed themsleves.
They came right out and said: You're Not Coming Back!
Who else could pay Tejada the MVP-type money he'll seek this winter.
Plus, his old friend Jason Giambi plays for the Yankees.
Imagine that infield: Posada, Giambi, Soriano, Jeter, Tejada...then you got Bernie, Mondesi, & Matsui in the outfield. The Yankees are just sick!!! Then you gotta beat Clemens, Pettitte, Mussina, Weaver, & Wells.
I HIGHLY doubt the A's would trade the reigning MVP to a club whom they'll probably face in October. To be safe, they'd rather trade him to an NL club.

Do they really think Jeter could be out that long? All I've heard is that it's going to be at least 6 weeks.Originally Posted by Anarky

Deadbolt that frakin' door!
Last night I killed a spider.
I think he'll never forgive me.
does it matter?
Its the Cardinals year-- theyve got the best lineup in baseball, and problably the best defense too (matheney should have gotten the GG last year--- Aussmiss won it because he played a few more games, thats all)
oh, and Morris+Williams+Stephenson is a force-- once Isringhausen gets back, WATCH OUT.

No way they are interested in Tejada. Almonte is doing a decent job at short so far.
