Who should the villian(s) be in spider-man 2?

I am not a big marvel fan, but I did buy the sm dvd. I also enjoyed x-men. anyway, I was wondering which villian or villians should be in the next spider-man. I don't think Hobgoblin would be a good idea just because two goblins back-to-back seems kinda cheesy.

Even having a sequel is cheesy now with all the other retarded movies being released. I think they should have held back on the stupid movie ideas like Daredevil and Hulk until after all the Spider Man movies were finished. X-Men, Spider Man, Hulk, Daredevil..... I mean I like comics and all but that's too much for me, especially when they're poorly done like Hulk. I think the best thing would have been to make Venom the villain and stop at 2 movies. With 3 movies... in Spider Man 2, Venom would kill Spider Man, then the third movie would be about Venom. (just to at least be a little interesting)

I thought this had already been decided, actually. Dr. Octopus is a definite go, and I hear that the Lizard dude (I don't know his real name - unless that's it) is likely the other villain. It would appear that Marvel is doing what the WB learned they shouldn't have done in their comic movies - have multiple villains.

Indeed. Doc Ock and The Lizard are confirmed. The title is provisionally The Amazing Spider-Man and the regulars will be back including Ted Rami and Bruce Campbell. I'd give good odds that Rami's car (Uncle Ben's) will make it into the sequel and it's scheduled for a 2004 release.

i am a huge fan of spider-man, but what i'd really like to see in the movies is to have the black cat thrown in the mix somehow. like, in the first movie she appears in, she'll just be an every day superhero (or villain? ) and she and spider-man could have a sort of competition thing going. then, in the next movies, spider-man will have a "partner". i know doc ock and the lizard are slated to be in this movie already, and i'm cool with the doc ock aspect, but not the lizard. one villain should be plenty and with doc ock, there is enough storyline there to make maybe two movies out of. if i had to choose a second "lesser" villain though, i'd choose the shocker.

Actually, only Dr Connors appears in SM2. His alter-ego Lizard doesn't appear, at least, not in this movie. Dr. Octupus is the only villan.

I'm just waiting for Carnage and Venom. I don't really like Doc Ock. The Scorpion would be pretty cool, too.

Also, eventually, they're gonna have to mix the movies a little. We can't have the X-Men, Spiderman, Daredevil, Blade, the Fantastic Four (I heard was coming), and the Punisher (same as FF) be running around the same city at the same time and not cross paths.
I'd love to see Spiderman and Blade battle Morbius, or Spiderman and Daredevil go up against the Kingpin, as happened often in the cartoon.

Also, Prozzak, how do you know The Hulk has been done poorly? I certainly hope you're not making that statment based off the Super Bowl T.V. spot.

I've not heard that, but that's welcome news if it's the case. I loathe the idea of two villains and the Lizard was never much IMO.

Like the way he is in Ultimate Spider-Man I'd like to see the Shocker show up robbing a bank in SM2( have Spider-Man stop him). Then in the third movie he could show up again with better equipment commiting another zany crime. It would make for some pretty cool fights and make a nice little running joke.

yeah it is the only goblin i can't see them using the hobgoblin i think they would ruin his look, but if they were to use a goblin in the next movies it would have to be harry taking up the green goblin role

It's Doc Ock.
Spider-Man 3 will probably have Harry become the next Globin or they could use Electro, Vulture, Venom, Carnage, Shocker, Kraven, Msyterio , The Spider-Slayers, Hydro-Man, Sandman, Racer Rocket, or at the very least Jackel.

Kingpin is off leasts due to Daredevil being made at Fox thrus, Raimi can't use him at all. They probably could use the Rose or Silver Main.

Moribus has his own movie set up at Aristian I think, so they can't use him also.

Dude you are SO talking my language!! See, being a guy who grew up with his animated series' and superheros, SpidermanTAS is what introduced me to Spiderman, and despite it's handfull of flaws it was totally awesome. Now, I'm sure duplicating the Blade/Spiderman storyline in a movie let alone doing a crossover in general is very very unlikely, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one thinking like that. I'd like to see crossover movies too, if you can get someone with a brain to do it. Fans love seeing such detailed continuity! Continuity rules!!

But don't count out Doc Ock yet. Sure ALL Spiderman fans want and can't wait for Venom and Carnage, but Doc Ock has evolved into a really great character over the years, and an awesome foe for Spiderman.

And I don't think I even have to agree that bringin in the Hobgoblin in the movies is a good idea AT ALL, because it's just so much of a bad idea it's too obvious to even discuss. Besides, The Hobgoblin is very cool, but the Green Goblin is king of the Goblin's of the Spiderman world. No contest.

And don't forget! Only concentrate on ONE villain per movie! It's the law!!

I feel Doc Ock should've been the villian in the first movie. Have Osborn as a supporting player in the first movie and then become the Green Goblin in the second. Would've been more powerful story-wise.

As for more villians, the Spider-Man movies would actually benefit from his extensive rogues gallery. Throughout the vignettes of him fighting crime in the first movie, I was hoping he'd at least take down a few supervillians. Not every villain needs to headline the movie.

After I saw the first one, I thought the next one would be Harry running Oscorp but with dirty dealings.

I thought he would continue his hunt for revenge against Spider-Man and form the Sinister Six: Doc Ock, Shocker, Rhino, Mysterio, Scorpion, and Chameleon or the Vulture.
