Well, the 24 train just keeps on rolling. GREAT episode this week, definitely better than the last two. Nina and Jack have some kind of chemistry, so needless to say, their misadventures were great. The whole Mason scene could have been cheesy but was exceedingly well done. Kate and Miguel were absent until fifty minutes in, when that whole subplot got thrown one hell of a curveball. I think Meghan's dad is quite possibly one of the sleaziest and most disgusting TV characters of all time. The drama with Palmer, meanwhile, is getting more and more interesting, even if the whole thing is making Palmer look none-too-bright. And I was surprised to hear about the journalist who had been detained. I figured he was gonna be held for all 24 hours. Interesting stuff.

The only problem was the subplot with Kate Warner, which just isn't moving fast enough and is way too melodramatic. The overacting doesn't help either.

Overall though, awesome ep. This season is shaping up to be something special.

What a great episode! I really enjoye dit. The pace was, as usual, breakneck. You turn your head for a second and ya miss something! I wondered at the beginning of the season how Jack and Kate would meet and it looks like Kate will go to CTU likely, in the next few hours and BAM!, Jack'll be right there. I really hope that subplot gets resolved fast becuase it's moving incredibly slow.

The Nina/Jack plot, however, was incredibly intense. I knew Nina would try to betray Jack first chance she got and she went for it. And the scene with Jack's gun to the back of her head was intense...the look on Jack's face was amazing. Keifer is really putting all he has into his charatcer and it's showing. I hope he gets nominated again this year.

While the Kim subplot has been a bit ludicrous, the revelaltion we got was a pure shocker. The second I saw that pool of blood I knew the abusive dad killed his wife...what a sleazebag.

Yet again 24 proved why it is without a shadow of a doubt the best show on tv. The whole Jack and Nina raid was great and very intense. My favorite part of the show. Looks like Sherry is up to no good yet again, still good to see her back though. I agree that the Kate storyline is moving way to slow, and really isn't holding my intrest. I still wonder how she'll get involved with Jack though. And my jaw dropped at the end of this episode. I can't believe he killed the wife, and the daughters going back with the abusive father. And Kim's in jail yet again. Each week this show gets better and better and I can't wait for each episode.

Yes, this show is very good. I have been watching the repeats on FX, but now I saw tonight's on time, and I must say that this is one the most intense dramas I have ever seen. Personally, I got a huge kick out of Jack's nervousness to pull the trigger on Nina, especially after she betrayed him, again. And Mason with his son was also better than I thought it was, too bad the kid was arrested, though .

The whole Warner situation is really weird to me. Kate should be happy, she got the wedding canned. Looks the mysterious tax attorney might know something. And the abusive father goes on my top list of "people who should be shot...right now." We don't know if it was really him who killed his wife, but it would be very strange if it wasn't. They are playing that character very well.

    Later.

I don't get the whole Warner thing either, why is this storyline in the 2nd series?
Also when is Kim going to stop messing up, stealing the bad dad's car was not wise, and it looks like with the discovery of mom's body that things are going from bad to worse. There's no way Kim is going to get out of this situation, unless Jack helps her.
I think he should come to her rescuse, and soon.
I feel for Jack in this episode, but everyone thinks he's gonna kill Nina which may not help him solve the case.
    Well that's my 2 cents.

I'm still not convinced that Nina was the one that killed Jack's wife. It could be just bad writing (especially since they taped 3 endings) but the set-up for the season finale had Nina going out of her way to avoid killing Teri. Nina took the time to tie up Teri, and reassure her that everything would be okay. Not something that Nina would bother to do if she planned on killing Teri. So, I think that somebody else killed Teri, and just who it was gets revealed later in the season.

Therefore, I suspect that they won't let Jack kill Nina (even if he does contemplate it). Otherwise, Jack will be so angst-ridden as to be useless for the rest of the season.

Nina knew she had to kill Teri, but didn't want to. That's what she was wrestling with. But ultimately, she did kill her.

Had to? For what reason? Teri wasn't an obstruction to Nina escaping like the guards were. And Teri was aware that Jack knew of her duplicity, so Teri being a witness wasn't a problem. So what would have forced Nina to kill Teri?

When Teri walked in on her and saw the dead body, that was problematic for Nina. I don't think she knew for certain whether Jack was alive or not. The plan was that Drazen would kill him. If Nina left Teri alive and ran, someone might find Teri, and she would tell them Nina had done this. Killing Teri would prevent her from telling anybody anything, giving Nina more time. Of course, that didn't happen, since Jack killed Drazen and showed up to stop her.

I might have forgotten some of the details, but that's what I recall.

I thought that Nina had to kill Teri because Teri had overheard Nina speaking in German. The person Nina was talking to said something like "don't let anyone know you're connected with germany" or something like that.

Hello. I came to talk. I've been thinking lately. About you and me. About what's going to happen to us, in the end. We're going to kill each other, aren't we? Perhaps later. I just wanted to know that I'd made a genuine attempt to talk things over and avert that outcome. Just once... I don't fully understand why ours should be such a fatal relationship, but I don't want your murder on my ... hands...

If I remember correctly, she knew that Jack was alive and could implicate her (I'll have to dig up my tape and review it). That's why she was getting out of CTU. But regardless, Nina tied up Teri after Teri had discovered the dead body and after Nina had made plans to leave the country. Seeing as how ruthlessly Nina killed the guards, why would Nina have taken the time to tie Teri up and reassure her if the intention was to kill her? Also, CTU would have figured out that it was Nina anyways since Nina would have been missing when CTU was in lockdown.

I don't remember that being said. However, again it's the fact that Nina tied up Teri after she had been spoken to the person in German. Why waste the time if Nina was planning on killing Teri?

My interpretation was that it was something she was wrestling with. She felt she should, but didn't want, since she had gotten to know Teri a little. She wasn't just some face.

Being an owner of the first season DVD set of 24, I checked out the final episodes and here is what went down:

Teri stumbles upon Nina in a storage room getting ready to pack up. She knows her cover is blown is packing up all of her gear to get out before CTU can successfully lock down the place. Teri walks in unbeknownst and says "hi" to her, and wants to talk, but Nina is on the phone. As Teri waits for her to get off the phone she looks around the room and sees a pool of blood from a dead gaurd. Nina notices that as well and points a gun at Teri.

Then, coming back to her later in the show, Nina has Teri tied up in a chair and is telling her everything will be alright. Moments later, Nini gets a call from one of her contacts and during which Nina says "Why can't I go directly to Germany?" She talks on for a few more minutes and, before she hangs up, the voice on the other side says "There's nothing that can connect you to Germany, right?". Nina says yes, as the camera pans over to Teri, who obviously heard the word "Germany". We then see Nina walk up behind Teri with a gun, wondering whether or not she should kill her. The camera cuts away.

And then Jack finds Teri later....dead.

The reason why the camera cuts away when Nina is about to kill Teri is to make people wonder if alternate endings. There were three alterate endings - two where Teri dies and one (featured on the DVD) where Teri lives. Nina did kill Teri. Why? She must have admitted it if everyone at CTU, including Jack, believes she did it. She must have testified to it during the 16 month gap inbetween seasons. And it would've been hard (and anti-climactic) to have another rogue agent walk in on Teri after Nina left and shoot her, and then walk away in the closing minutes of the hour. Nina did kill Teri - even the show creators said she did, and that is good enough for me!

Gawd I love this show...I'm so glad other folks here do, too!
