    Spawn 2 Update

    Like This Thread!
Sony is pushing ahead with the sequel. According to www.darkhorizons.com and www.steveniles.com, the script is undergoing re-writes for a more action-oriented and PG-13 rating. That means that the dark, moody Spawn: TAS-like sequel that McFarlane wanted isn't gonna happen...

Don't know what to say. I'm all for another Spawn movie, but they need the dark/moody stuff in there. It's who Spawn is pretty much. I guess we'll wait and see...

Call the guy who made the Crow and then we'd get the kind of Spawn movie we deserve.

Hope they're not going for a kinder gentler Spawn....

What it really needs is a professional budget. The first one was a competent B-movie, but nothing more.

How many re-writes has the script had? I remember hearing when the first movie came out that the script for the second was already half done, and that was how long ago?

What is everyone's PROBLEM with the first movie, it was excellent despite it's flaws , (it had nothing on the Animated Series)

When will the Animated Series return anyway, it ended with Spawn vowing to reclaim his humanity...

Let's hope that Sam & Twitch get more screen time in this one. The first movie was good. Not as dark as the cartoon, but still A good dark film. It's better than "Batman & Robin", I'll tell you that!

    Bring on the new Spawn!
I love the comic books, love the action figure, and love the 1st movie! I hope Spawn 2 will be just as good as Spawn 1

I just recently bought the animated Spawn 2 movie on DVD that aired on HBO, and I don't know how this is going to fare. I haven't seen the first movie, so I'm not sure how to react.

I'd think worse would be that they can't use Angela, and possibly Cogliostro without Neil Gaiman's permission or something. Didn't he just win a year long lawsuit for partial rights to those characters or something? I thought SPAWN was fairly decent, and pretty damn faithful as a real-world version of the comic book. I was sort of looking forward to SPAWN 2 when I heard rumors about Angela back in, oh, would have been 1999, but can they even still use her?
