    The WWE Big Question #17

    Like This Thread!
Welcome to another edition of The WWE Big Question—asking rather large questions for seventeen weeks.

One thing wrestling fans often have to put up with are people who just don't like sports entertainment and do whatever they can to cut it down. These people are out there, saying lame-brain things like "You know it's fake right?" "That stuff is so fake." and "Those guys aren't real athletes." Some of them might even be your friends! So this week, we ask...

How do you deal with critics and non-fans who say wrestling is fake?

This is still the part of the post where I tell you can submit ideas for The Big Question.

The one that I used to get asked a lot when people found out I'm a wrestling fan is the ever classic "You know that wrestling is fake, right?" My responce is often telling 'em "So is over 90% of the shows on t.v. right now, but that doesn't stop people from watching them." I've actually gotten very sarcastic with such critics in the past, because of how sick it would make me to have them almost look down on me for watching it.

But, for the most part, I'd just tell them that I know it's fake, just like most shows on T.V. Then I'd explain what I like about wrestling and, if need be, explain to them why people look at wrestlers as real athletes, even if the outcome and storylines are fake. Heck, many wrestlers work harder work schedules throughout the year then other sports stars, and I'd try to educate the non-fans on this bit of info.

And, if they still want to badmouth werstling around me afterwards, I tell them to bite my shiny metal ass.

Simple, I tell them I watch it for the comedy, women, and high-risk stunts.

That's pretty much what all guys look for in good action entertainment.

    Later.

Well I'm rather late on this again, but "we do get so busy here" expect 18 to be slightly delayed so some of you who missed it can hit this one. Don't forget you can check out the newest Big Question anytime by following the link in my sig.

How do you deal with critics and non-fans who say wrestling is fake?

I came up with this topic idea after seeing the "it's fake" segment on Confidential a few weeks ago. I held onto it and have watched it several times because it is just so good.

Whether or not some of these "idiots" will acknowledge it or not, these folks are real athletes and deserved to be treated as such.

I usually inform people that the stuff these men and women do are not easy and just because they know who is going to win doesn't mean it's easy. Sometime I rattle off a few major injuries to add to the point. Some people.

In that segment I mentioned earlier, Billy Kidman said "If it looks like it hurt, it probably did." Truer words were never spoken.
