My friend told me that it deals with Batman's long lost daughter, is this true? Batman doesn't have a daughter, well i'm not sure if in the comics.![]()
I know its a bit early but i got to see the original pilot so i decided to tell you what i think.
The new Batman spin off show called "Birds of Prey" on the WB is more than just a long anticipated show. It is the epitome of Tim Burton's work on the original films of the late 80's and early 90's. They take Burton's dark likeness to Gotham city and make it their own and steer clear from Joel Schummacher's horrible example of Batman like the two movies directed under Schummacher ,"Batman Forever" and "Batman and Robin". The environment was exactly what I believed a Batman environment should be a dark scary city where criminals run free and cops are clueless. It seems that this will be a fun adventure for the whole family.
But of course with the cheers there must also be jeers. Although casting was very good for the characters, the acting wasn't spectacular. Dina Meyer plays a very good "Oracle/Batgirl", much better then Alicia Sylverstone's sorry excuse for Batgirl in the Batman and Robin movie. Ashely Scott played a well "Bad Ass" as the huntress, but her dramatic scenes were in my opinion forced and fake. But in every show there must be an annoying character and I found this in Rachel Skarston's character "Dinah". Her acting wasn't the greatest and they really didn't explain her parents or origin. She is the character that doesn't really matter if she is in or out of the episode because she didn't do anything really till the end. Another character I found to be annoying is "Detective Reese". Shemar Moore's acting was very horrible. It seemed like he had no emotions at all.
Although the story of the episode really didn't explain alot about Batman and his history or Bruce Wayne like i had hoped ,I see a very good show in the making. I am sure the actors and plots will get better as time goes by. I see great potential in this show and I am sure the teen audience who likes shows like "Smallville" and "Buffy" will enjoy this show most of all. In Closing I think this show can only get better and not get worse.
