A New Breed Of Secret Agent

"I wish I had a video camera, 'cause this is going to be one hell of a trick." - Xander Cage

    Release Date: August 9, 2002

Betting he can succeed where other conventional spies have failed, Xander is recruited by NSA Agent Gibbons (Jackson) to become a different kind of undercover agent. This movie was badass. It should get an anatomically correct Oscar.

Check your brain at the door

As long as you didn't try to think about how he does half the stuff he does, this movie is awesome!!!! Two hours of pure adrenalin and a really hot guy. What more can a girl ask for?

I saw it today. It requires a good amount of suspension of disbelief, but it's very entertaining.

Loads of amazing action and stunts are packed into the movie from start to finish, and it's definitley the definition of "cool". Vin Diesel pulls his part off very well, and even has a few funny lines. There's a fair amount of T&A for a PG-13 movie, which is good, because, of course, this movie is geared toward teenage fanboys like me.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that for what it is, this movie was pretty cool, entertaining, and action packed.

I think Rob Cohen could be Hollywood's newest action director. After how fast paced and action packed Fast and the Furious was, that was just blown clear out of the water by xXx! The action was non-stop and was just plain fun.

The dialouge was out right horrible in some parts, but if you can ignore that, and let your imagination go, you will really enjoy this movie. This is why I love movies, because stuff like this can come to life. I'm looking forward to xXx 2 either next summer or 2004.

The Corvette bridge jumping scene was great! And being a huge muscle car fan, that 1967 Pontiac GTO took the cake. Sweeeeet!

I saw the movie on Saturday night and was glad that I took the last couple bucks out of my wallet to see it. The movie was very enjoyable and Vin Diesel delivers another action packed performance. The greatest part is that Vin Diesel proves that he can be the anti-James Bond. Altho the trailers for the new Bond flick at the beginning of the movie sparked my interest as well.

    I loved it!

The action was great, and those scene with a shirtless Vin Diesel, were the highlight of the movie. yum.

Was it my eyes or did the female lead look like Rachel Weisz(from the Mummy)? Cuz I swore that was her untill I saw the credits...

My fiancee dragged me off to this POS movie. I stand firmly by my previous post about Vin Diesel..this guy cannot act and it seems like he is reading cue cards.

There are alot of good action sequences in this flick ..but that is it..the story was lame, mindless and cliched and this guy has to be one of the worst actors out there. The only reason this guy is a star right now is his body..nothing more..nothing less

I had said before that "Master of Disguise" was a horrible movie..I absolutely hated that movie as well..but if I it came down to being stuck on a world where these were the only two movies I would see the Dana Carvey flick as opposed to putting anymore money in this no talent hack's bank account

I saw this flick this weekend, and I loved it - it was exactly what I was expecting - a great action flick that was a lot of fun to watch.

And I'd strongly disagree with optimuslives' assessment that Diesel can't act. He can - just check out Pitch Black or Iron Giant. Granted, he's not the best actor in the world, but he's not terrible either.

It definately was not Rachel Weisz. I can't remember the actress's name, but I think she may have really been Russian or something in that region.

And I have to back Clayface up about Vin's acting abilities. He's a heck of a lot better than Stallone or Seagal ever were.

I never said either of them was good either...but I have to admit that I never felt like either of them was reading off of cue cards.

I have seen high school play actors that give better performances than this big oaf..Everybody is all excited about him right now because he is the "newest flavor of the month" but that will change once the fervor settles down and people see his one dimensional acting for what it really is.

    oh..and I saw Pitch Black..good flick..

Wow. Well, I just don't see it. Though I've always felt that Stallone always sounds like he's reading off of cue cards.

Vin is such an awesome actor. And XXX had to have just about the best stunt work. He's got to be the new "James Bond" of the next generation. Cars, weapons, beautiful women and an entertaining, enjoyable story that keeps you interested. I had my doubts, though after reading an article on Matt Vincent (Vin), I was a bit more interested. And now after having seen it tonight, I'm definitely blown away.

I throughly enjoyed it and hope to see it again at a bagin matinee. Can someone please explain to me what was up with the ending credits and that weird logo? Looked like a bad Areosmith knockoff.

As for Vin's acting ablility, he gets the job done to the degree that it needs to be done. Before he hit hollywood he was apparently a pretty accomplished way-off Broadway thespian, and it's been reported he is the uber-geek to the point where he recently pivked up $800 worth of D&D gear for "research".

I wasn't sure whether this movie deserved 4 or 3 1/2, but I'm sometimes too generous with my ratings.

I enjoyed the movie, there were lots of clever moments and fun explosions, but it just didn't "do it for me" so to speak and I really enjoyed the previews.

I really liked the relationship between X and Gibbons. It was easily the non-explosion highlight of the movie.

xXx's "gadget geek" was kind of fun, but he can't hold a candle to Q or R.

The cigarette/heat-seeking missile was a fun little sequence. I also really enjoyed the "Band-Aid bombs" and the Columbian encounter.

Stupid Russian scientist! If you help a bad guy build something that would kill a lot of people you are going to die, there is no way around it! The big money isn't much good to you dead!

I see potential in X and Yelena appearing together in the (already rumored or confirmed) second film, which would be a welcome change from the standard.

Overall I enjoyed "xXx" and I will probably give another one a go, but I won't be waiting with fanted breath. Xander Cage may be "a new breed of secret agent," but he's not the next James Bond.

It gets one star only becuase of Viktor and his awesome beard. This movie, to me, was total, complete garbage. When I went to see the movie, I knew it wasn't going to be good, or great. I thought it would at least be on par with 'The Fast & The Furious", but this was ridiculous. Bad acting, laughibly bad dialogue that was filler between action scenes, ridiculous monents, action sequences that stretched believability. The only remotely real part was Xander's reaction to the killings of the scientist. Seeing that happen would shock anyone, and I was surprised to see him react like that, sineadt of keeping a cold facade.

But I found it to be horrible garbage with only a bit of impressive CGI. The now infamous 'avalanche' scene was a mix of bad CGI and even worse CGI. I just couldn't enjoy this movie. Sub-par acting and a complete waste of Samuel L. Jackson. 'xXx' will be popular becuase of the focus on extreme sports and the laughable 'relating' (preaching about how video games aren't bad, etc...) that Xander does at times. I just couldn't enjoy myself. I even left my brain at the door and still felt insulted. Many times I shook my head indisbelief or hung my head in shame.

I just didn't like this movie one bit.
