    WWE Vengeance Talkback (Spoilers)

    Like This Thread!
Well, another PPV is over, and since no one put up a talkback thread yet, I guess I will.

All I can say was that I thought Vengeance was fine, not worth 35 dollars, but definately worth the five I paid to see it at a friend's house.

And talk about predictablity, I think the Rock only has had one decent title reign in those other six wins, and this one will end at Summerslam.

Do you seek Vengeance on the WWE for this PPV...?

    Post!

One Word : BAD! Unless Badsuck is a word.

I have been a wrestling fan since i was 5 so I know what good wrestling is like. This was not it. first of all , Dudleys Vs Eddie and Benoit? The latter 2 are the best workers in the whole company, and they are wrestling guys with no heat whatsoever. The match was ok but why would they let Dudleys win? Benoit and eddie need to get over more as heels. Also, the Rob Van Dam match was good, but they seem to be toning down these twos in ring potential. Jeff Hardy and Regal was just out there... I didnt even no they were gonna wrestle , so not a thrilling match..usualu Jeff stuff ..I like both guys alot. Good match. Booker T and Big Show..god Booker T is there best product right now. Good match. And Booker T pulling off the old Harlem Heat, Beautiful. Im gonna skip the other matches and get right to the end.. The main event was actually alright for a change..decent back and forth..however. Letting the rock when was a dumb dumb dumb way of covering a face vs hell match at summerslam. For those of you who dont know, the Rock is signing to do what seems like a new movie a day. It is pretty frickin obviuos Brock will win at Summerslam.. VERY obvious. The Rock is booked solid shooting movies, and they want to put brock over. It all sucks now..im starting to dislike wrestling..they need competition badly. Lastly, the whole Bischoff surprise was a serious let down. I thought he was gonna do somethin good tonitwe but nadda. So what if Trips is goin to RAW. He has no real competition there, and lately in the back he's letting his dictatorship show. They better not be forming a new DX after they disbanded the nWo..whats the point! bah im done. Flame on

I liked it. The actual wrestling in the show was something to see. The two standout matches for me would have to be Brock Lesnar vs. RVD (Brock actually looked good tonight) and the triple threat at the end. It was also nice to see that they didn't forget about Shawn Michaels' role with that whole "Triple H coming to Raw" thing. They are definately going in the right direction.

    Some PPV thoughts

I missed the first match! Just caught the end. I don't think it's a bad thing that the Dudleys won the table match (wrestlers should rarely lose at their "signature" match, IMO) but it was a bad thing that Benoit and Guerrero (especially Benoit) lost. Benoit has yet to do anything impressive since returning, and being on the losing end of matches is hurting his momentum. They should've sacrificed Tommy Dreamer or Bradshaw (non-title) to him instead.

I thought the HHH/Bischoff/Stephnie thing went on forever. They could've cut that and put Eddy and Benoit in singles matches instead. They also seemed to be very careful not to mention the letters "DX". Reuniting Michaels and Helmsley and not calling it DX is a great formula for letdown.

Decent cruiserweight match between Knoble and Kidman. Not overly spectacular, but probably my second favorite of the night. of the night. Hardy and Regal was entertaining as well, moreso than I expected.

Mark Cole said John Cena "worked his way up" in the WWE? Huh? The match was my favorite of the night, but not the great match that I expected. I was also disappointed with the outcome. Jericho's sinking like a stone. I would say their pushing Cena too fast, but a win over Jericho isn't a big deal lately; everyone's doing it. I heard Jericho wanted to wrestle Albert, but Albert felt Jericho was below him. Cena got stuck with the match because he's the new guy. That's just what I heard.

RVD vs Lesnar. Cheers for RVD, who gets his heat back. Tears for WWE; as they now have "The Next King Mabel" Brock Lesnar competing for the world title at Summerslam. I can't really rate this match. I didn't find it particularly exciting, but it might've had something to do with a friend's annoying kid. And it's just mean to tease a Van Terminator and not deliver.

I expected Big Show vs Booker T to be lame. I was wrong. It seems I overrated it, and the match was lame-ass. Saving this match from total suck was the return of the Houston (formerly Harlem) Hangover from retirement. I know he's hurt a couple people with that move in the past, but hell... it's just the Big Show.

I spent most of the tag match wishing Hogan would tag out. It's amazing how Hogan makes everyone's moves look bad. Personal pop of the night for interference from Jericho.

I probably didn't like the triple threat match as much as most people. The psychology of using another guy's signature is just whacked. Theoretically, a wrestler practices even the most basic move hundreds of times before using it in the ring. If just anyone can do a special move, it's not a special move. When your opponent takes the time to learn your signature move, that's means a guy's really screwing with your head, and that psychology should play more into the match.

Let's look at this from another point-of-view. Undertaker now knows the super-effective Angle Slam. Why then, will he never use this move in a match again? Why would Rock use a chokeslam when he could probably do more damage with his own Rock Bottom from the same position?

So the main even came off as senseless to me, and something about the way the end came off... in PPV main events, a guy generally has to be pretty worn down, or he'll even kick out of finishers. That's the expectation that the WWE has created the last couple of years, anyway, and even within the confines of this match. Angle looked pumped up and ready to hand out Angle Slams, but whoa! Rock Bottom from a weakened Rock, and it's over. I was very surprised when the three count came down. So the main event was a letdown in general for me.

And finally, what happened to Vengeance "changing the face fo wrestling?" Granted, I wasn't getting my hopes up, but I was expecting some kind of surprise.

Overall disappointment with the PPV. I was hoping I would come out of it feeling like I'd seen the start of something new, but it's just the same old formula with some different faces.

I am a long time wrestling fan...I have almost every PPV, RAW and Smackdown taped since the beginning and started watching the WWF back in the early 80's and this was the first PPV I did not order and had no desire to order

The ratings will continue to drop until Vince does something drastic to change the direction of WWE. The writing has been substandard and predictable for many months..as I have said before..Austin did the right thing by deserting this sinking ship.

If they bring back DX then it will have the same effect that the return of the NWO did at first..then as the newness wears off the story will drag on for weeks until DX will also be put out to pasture

Who is writing this garbage anyway now...they have better writers on women's soap operas. Maybe Vince should hire a few..the shows cannot get any worse that what they are currently.

I will give the WWE a few more months to shape up..if they are still doing the same old tired and predictable story lines then I will give all my tapes away and sell my MOC/MIB WWF/WWE wrestling figures collections on ebay and be done with the nonsense altogether

Man, I never thought they'd stoop this low to giving the Rock the title right away Just when you think things can't get any worse, they do... Just like the stock market the WWE's been on a tremendous collapse since early 2000 (Wrestlemania 2000's horrific and oh so predictable ending is what did it for me, incidently enough right around the time the stock market itself blew up) and its just getting worse and worse... an interesting parallel actually

Considering I didn't actually watch the thing (too smart to do that) I can't comment on much else. I'll see how things turn out on RAW tomorrow.

    That was funny !

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with Vengeance because it was predictable, but it wasn't completely bad either because of the wrestling.

Well this will be my last PPV before I have to head back to school and I really enjoyed it. It's always great to get together with some friends and watch some World Wrestling Entertainment.

    Table Match
I thought the table match has some really good near misses and saves in it, even though those are expected. Spike's Dudley Dog on Eddie didn't turn out quite as nice as it could have, but I guess it got the job done. Benoit tossing Spike over and into a table was cool! It was nice that the contest came down to the two principal members of the feud. I though the finish was good, lots of action. I figured Benoit & Eddie would win, but you have to keep in mind that if everything had gone as planned those two would be feuding with Steve Austin, not Bubba and Spike. This win helped Bubba, but it's pretty hard to hurt Benoit if you ask me.

*The segments with Bischoff and Coach waiting around for HHH were a lot of fun.

    Cruiserweight Title
I promised myself I wouldn't dwell on Kidman's ring attire anymore, but it was great to see the good shorts back! It was a pretty good match, but sometimes Noble's mostly ground attack seems a bit out of place for what one expects from a cruiserweight match. Did Kidman get beat with a powerbomb?! You don't powerbomb Billy Kidman! I assumed Noble would win, but I thought there was a slight chance Billy would get the belt because he and Mysterio have put on some great matches in the past.

    European Title
It was a decent bout, but it was just a return match. There has been really nothing to forward these two other than Regal bawling like a baby after losing his belt. It was nice to have the "sudden finish" which takes away from the 'wait for the trademark move' thing.

*I liked Flair and Hogan talking in the back. They seemed like a couple of old-timers and it was cool.

    Special Challenge-Heat add on
I thought Cena and Jericho put on a very good match and I'm glad to see John moving up in the world. He has the potential to be a big star in the future (well if SmackDown! had a belt he could win in singles but I digress). The end was well done with Cena picking up the shocking win. If Jericho starts "going nuts" things could get interesting.

*I like JR and King better than Cole and Tazz. The RAW team started doing a better job as soon as they sat down.

    I-C Title
To be honest I was really expecting Lesnar to win here. I didn't want him to, but I figured he would. He seemed to throw RVD around for the better part of the match which made him look pretty weak. Heyman costs Brock another match, but he knew what he was doing. Brock would have kicked out just after three. Charles Robinson sure isn't much of a fighter.

*Divorce paper?! Uncle Eric "Open mouth, insert foot"

    No DQ, No CT
This match was decent, but HARLEM HANG-OVER!!!

    RAW or SmackDown!
"I know she likes it" Funny stuff.
It was great HBK got involved, I was afraid he was going to disappear again. Take that Stephanie!! That slap must've hurt, but it was the sting of victory.

    Tag Titles
I felt this was a solid match although I felt the build-up was just a bit rushed. The ending action was just excellent and fast-paced with Test, Rikishi and Jericho. This match really did a lot to re-start the Edge-Jericho feud.

*Oooo, Steph's talking to RAW guys. I'm just not scared of her at all. Please don't take Boss Man from RAW!!

    Undisputed Title
Poor Kurt was being ignored at the beginning.
I thought the 'stealing of finishers' was a very fun part of the match. Seven times for Rocky seems a bit much, but ah well. Overall I thought it was a great main event to top off Vengeance.

A pretty good PPV IMO, but of course, I didn't watch it. It looked good on paper, at least. Why did they not even mention the Regal vs. Hardy match? I would rather have a Women's title defense then that. I knew that there had to be some sort of DQ, because Brock can't go into Summerslam with IC belt. Of course, the supposed Great One, Brock Lesnar can't lose besides a DQ! It was expected that Rock would win, but there would is always a chance that B-Rock wouldn't win, right????

I read about it, and it seemed ok. Since Wrestlemania, Vengeance is the first descent PPV, but not worth paying 34.95 for. Next PPV should be big though.

The PPV was a good one. It was by no means spectacular, but it was good- a solid, entertaining PPV. It wasn't worth the money, but the last PPV that was was WM-X7. The only reason I continue to order them is because I'm a wrestling junkie who needs his fix. Still, it was good (not great) and I liked it.

    Table Match
Very good opener. It was cool and action packed, and had its high spots. Towards the beginning it was a little slow, but it really picked up- Benoit and Guerrero can't put on a bad match. The various table spots were good- I'm glad they went back to the whole "both partners must go through" like when the match originally debuted. The only flaw was that the Dudleyz won. I, like many others, was confused by this. Wasn't Benoit scheduled to feud with Stone Cold all summer? Then why is he jobbing to a tag team wrestler and a jobber? Still a good match- hey, at least the ending was unpredictable.

    Cruiserweight Title
Eh. It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't amazing. I'm sorry to say this, but I just don't think the Cruiserweight division will get over with Noble as the champ. His technical style is too... Plain. I say get the focus on Mysterio to save the division. Don't get me wrong- Noble is a great technician, and I admire and like that, alot, but it won't get the division over. Still, the match was decent with some cool reversals and spots, but nothing amazing.

    European Title
Yawn. Regal sucks- he can't put on an exciting match with anyone. I would much rather have seen a women's match than this garbage. Jeff is entertaining enough to save this match from being a bathroom break, but Regal is just boring in the ring- BORING.

    Cena/Jericho
Another good match where the wrong person went over. You gotta feel for Jericho- he hasn't won a PPV match since before WrestleMania. Personally I blame Triple H. Regardless, the match was very good, the best the two have put on yet, and was a great blow off. Hopefully Jericho won't lose to Edge at SummerSlam- he needs to bounce back badly.

    IC Title
I still hate Brock. It was a decent match, but regardless, I still hate Brock. I could go on for hours about how he doesn't deserve to go to SummerSlam, but what the hell, it makes no difference. The match was much better than their affair at KOTR, thank god, and was pretty entertaining. It was the only match on the card that was really unpredictable, and that made it exciting, but I still find Brock relativley unexciting in the ring. RVD still managed to drag him to a decent match- I wish he'd hit the VanTerminator at the end though. The finish was a little weak, but I don't blame them- neither man could really afford to lose. The verdict: decent match, but Brock still sucks.

    No CO, No DQ
This match basically sucked, but it had two highspots. The Scissors Kick through the table was sweet and the "Houston" (Harlem) Hangover was as well. All that really matters is that the right man went over- thank the lord! If Big Show had won this match, I might have killed myself. All hail the 5 time WCW champion!

    Interview
Was this a waste of PPV time, or what? If you didn't know Triple H was going to RAW, you are too stupid to be watching wrestling, and that's saying something. They just wasted half an hour of PPV time that could have been more time for existing matches or more matches. Screw Triple H. I hate him now. Using backstage influence to waste OUR money? Screw him.

    Tag Team Titles
Good enough match for what it was. Christian, Lance, and Edge carried Hogan to a decent match, although it wasn't anything special. The right team went over, but this was the most predictable match on the card, which took away from it slightly. Decent.

    WWE Undisputed Title
Very enjoyable, actually! In fact, I think it was the best match on the card. Very cool, slick, and well done. For a match with Taker in it, it was amazingly fast paced. Angle was at his best, and made it look good. Rock had a little ring rust, but not much, and it was a very good, creative, entertaining match. All of the finishers were awesome, and it really gave the impression that a fall could occur at any time. Good suspense- the match was just well done. We all knew Rock would win, but it was still a great match.

I'd say, on a relative scale, thumbs up to the overall show.

As one who saw it but didn't pay, I still feel like it was a waste of time. It just felt like one big TV episode....big 25 minute talking/skit in the middle to really bring things to a crashing stop.

Well at least there was the Harlem Hangover as one plus!

The Kliq must have booked the finishes to the matches last night, because they ruined what were good matches.
