This is the first i've heard of it, and I can't find anything about it. I hope its not true, that was a bad show in the 80s. To me, ALF is to 10-10-220, what Carrot Top is to 1800CallATT.

When I was in Vegas I read in an old Entertainment Weekly(featured Star Wars Episode 2 interviews) that Alf is getting a talk show. If Entertainment weekly has a web site you should be able to find the story.

Can someone lay these rumors to rest?
It ain't gonna happen.
Is that enough?
There is no current news of such. There is, however a petition if you are interested in signing it. I'm not, you might. I leave it to your freedom of choice whether to do so.

That was the most recent activity I could locate regarding the franchise on a brief websearch. Nothing about a new show.

A talk show? hahaha that would be funny.
I never sign petitions because they never work
Well, in the eighties the little brown hairball had a sitcom and a Saturday morning cartoon, as well as a short-lived comic-book series. And about five years ago, there was a movie. I always liked ALF--recalling again Kate's immortal line, after seeing how friendly her daughter Lynne is getting with the alien, about having grandchildren she isn't ashamed to show in public. Ha. Funny.![]()
He had a movie and a cartoon? I didn't know that
Alf was also just recently on Fox News and they talked about his upcoming Talk Show so I'm guessing that Alf will indeed by getting a talk show. While he was there he asked if he could talk to Bill O'Reilly.
"I was going to buy a Bill O'Reilly doll. It was only $20 but the thing takes $50 in batteries - he never shuts up!" - Alf

The only "talk show" I've seen/heard of is the 10-10 commercial where Alf is supposedly a talk show host talking to a guest about calls he makes.
But I love Alf. I wish they'd release his 80s sitcom on DVD already.

I have read that the guy who does Alf's voice is trying to get Alf a talk show. But who knows if it'll ever be made.
Here's a short page I found while doing a quick search.

hahaha Alf
I bet his talk show wouldn't last. No one would take it serious. Then again we do have Space Ghost.
Two years back, Alf was set to get a talk-show on Sci Fi Channel, but it never happened. His creator is now trying to get an Alf talk show again, which may/may not air on Sci Fi.

An Alf talk show could definitely work if they made it more on the adult side. A show geared towards kids will fail.
And when I say geared towards adults, I mean something edgy and humorous, not stupid and offensive like Crank Yankers.
I don't like to get off-topic or anything, but I agree with what you said about Crank Yankers. The show would've been a lot better if they had used humans instead of those ugly-ass puppets. It disgusts me to just LOOK at them. Yuck!Originally posted by Fallout Boy

Once again, Comedy Central ruins what could've been a great series for years to come. Sometimes I wish nemalki would put them in the HFIL...
Well I'm just not a believer in the "let's get puppets to make nasty jokes" school of comedy.
It didn't make Greg the Bunny fun to watch, and it sure as HFIL doesn't work for Crank Yankers.
How DepressingIt's going to happen, it was confirmed a long time ago.
I'm definitely with you on that one. Alf wasn't funny, Greg the bunny wasn't funny, Crank Yankers isn't funny. I think the last puppet show I liked was the muppets, but that was many years ago.Well I'm just not a believer in the "let's get puppets to make nasty jokes" school of comedy.
Quick question about comedy central: When are they losing the rights to air the old SNL episodes? I remember reading about that a while ago, but SNL is still running strong on that station.

On the topic of Crank Yankers I gotta say that show just isn't funny. The Jerky Boys do much better crank calls and the puppets seem to be the only draw for laughter because it sure as hell isn't their boring "crank" calls.
About SNL and Comedy Central I doubt they'd loose the rights to some of the seasons of SNL. They already air it 7 times a day and go through seasons pretty quickly so I'd think they would want as much seasons as possible.
Back on topic:
lol That's a great joke. I hope Alf gets a talk show and it comes out something like Space Ghost and not a normal talk show."I was going to buy a Bill O'Reilly doll. It was only $20 but the thing takes $50 in batteries - he never shuts up!" - Alf
