    Spice Girls Taking Different Projects

    Like This Thread!
It's the sign of the apocalypse...the Spice Girls are still around! According to www.muchmusic.com/muchnews/ the spicy gals are having an easy time finding work.

"Though the Spice Girls seem to be on an extended hiatus, it seems that one of them is keeping busy. According to worldpop.com, Scary Spice (Mel B) has landed herself a major role on a BBC television drama. The show which is produced by the people that brought us the original ‘Queer As Folk’ will follow the lives of a group of young fast-living kids from Manchester. The show is expected to begin airing in England towards the end of the year. And according to Sky News, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell could be making her way to the big screen. Halliwell is said to be in talks to play a secret agent in a flick about the life in Britain’s secret service. The project is currently titled ‘Semper Occultus’ and would see the ex-Spice Girl playing the lead role. A source close to Geri Halliwell has said: “There’s quite a buzz about this project and Geri is the person the producers want as the lead.”

Meanwhile, the other Spice Girls are still working on respective solo ventures.

This is depressing, at least they're not getting a lot of work in the U.S.

They are embarassing. Haliwell especially. She has little to no credibility in the UK so we can all hope that this attempt to further her career dies a quick death.

Emma Bunton continues her painful solo projects, Mel B has been delightfully out of sight since her record label dropped her.

The only one (to my fury) to remain in 'power' is 'Posh' spice - Victoria - mainly thanks to her marriage to England footballer David Beckham. Somehow (and I don't know how) the papers seemed to keep them interesting - well, to Joe Public. They have a manor just outside Sawbridgeworth, north of London a mile or so from where I used to live and they have renamed it Beckingham Palace (or at least the media has labelled it).

David I can cope with. Nice character - very good footballer. Victoria... nothing. She's one of the fortunates who managed to make it when she had no right to. She couldn't sing when she started in the Spice Girls (she is the only vocal not present on 'Wannabe') and she still is pretty bad. Her talkshow flopped and her personality rates as 'embarassing'. Just the average Essex girl, hooked to a talented sports guy. The exposure and money she gets for filling up my newspaper is very annoying.

But that's what they 'were' made for. Average looking girls that people could imagine pulling down the local club (in fact she used to frequent my ex-local club before I went there).

It just boils me when I see so much real entertainment talent in the clubs, on the stage... and then a group like this plug up the charts and stagnate the industry.

Why is the music industry losing money? Don't blame Napster, blame disposable pop like them....

Wait, these people are still around? I thought they had dropped off the face of the earth one day or something. All I know is that we were a lot better off.

i never had a problem with the spice girls. some of their music was kind of catchy. i don't think they deserve to "drop off the face of the planet." there are a lot worse people out there who are actually doing harm to their respective communities and the spice girls aren't one of them.
