Must you ask this question? It's kind of like asking "Is SpongeBob yellow" or "Is 'invader Zim' cancelled". Yes, they are, and there is no way I would let my kids (if I had any) watch a show like that.
Yes! It brings change to Nickelodeon, and I'm sick of Nicktoons.
No. It's too offensive.
I don't care about the stupid network anymore.
OMG! You're not gonna believe this piece of news I just picked up about Nickelodeon! Apparently, the network is planning to make a talk show that discusses -- get this -- HOMOSEXUALITY to children ages 8-13.
Now, I'm not implying that I'm against gays or anything, nor am I implying that I myself am a gay (I'm obviously not), but let's try to get the point across here:
Nickelodeon? Homosexuality? Children ages 8-13? Do you see a connection here?

Nick is getting sadder, and sadder each day when I here Nick is during something bad.
I am straight, but don't have a problem with people who are gay. However, I wouldn't want my 8 year old kid (and I am sure even younger ones) watching that. The parents should explain this and other issues also to their children, not Nickelodeon.

*sigh* i can picture it now. dance rainbows and condoms telling you how fun it is to be "butt buddies" so they won't let shows make fun of them, but it's aok to turn kids on to homosexuality???
not like i have anything against homosexuals, it's your life. love whatever you want. aslong as it's the legal age, and not an animal.
If I ever saw the guy who came up with this idea, i would be like, "AY!! I'm gonna kick you in the NUTS!!!!"

I have no problems with this news. Homosexuality is a normal lifestyle for some families, and it makes sense to explain it. Believe it or not, some kids may wonder why some of their friends may have two dads or two mothers. There are alot of families with same sex parents, and if Nickelodeon wants to educate peole on this, then let them. Nicklodeon stated they are not encourgaing nor condemning this lifestyle just educating, which I have no problem with, something the parents of these typesof families should do as well. It's a valid and just topic. And I would let my kid watch it, if I had one (which I hope to, someday). As a straight person myself with a beautiful gal by my side, I have no problem with homosexuality. It's a lifestyle just like heterosexuality. They find attraction in the same sex. Big deal. I gotta give Nick props for having the guts to do something like this, a very controversial subject.
And please be very careful inthis thread. This is some controversial subject matter so becareful what you say and keep it PG. If not, posters will be warned and this thread may close. Just keep it civilized.

If they did air it, it would probably would be less watched than "Nick News". And that show has what, 8 people watching it?
That is still on? Last time I watched it was when it was still "Nick News W5"Originally posted by DougGoneMAD

I see it on like once a year.
Just as a reminder of Jim's last post, please keep this topic civilized and without any kind of accusatory opinions. A very recent post had to be deleted for not following these rules. It is not a poster's job to bring hate to these boards. So if we could just keep things as calm, civilized and mentally stimulating as they usually are, we won't have to have any of that happen.
Now back on topic:
I agree that the topic should be taught about homosexuality by their parents but what no one realizes is parents these days, (of the first year teens especially) AREN'T teaching their children ANYTHING about homosexuality. These are most often classified as the 'soccor moms,' you might say, who involuntarily make their kids think anything aside from how they live is disgusting and/or wrong. I think the show is a good idea.Originally posted by Jim Harvey

im not going to get into a religion thing but you are sinning by hating and promoting hate.[Post Content Deleted]
This is something that should be discussed at home. Having gay characters on A show is one thing, but preaching the lifestyle on A daily basis to kids is A little too far. Some people may take issue with it for good reasons.
Um you can get banned by saying that.Originally posted by Defiant1DS9

Nick dont preach, thats all I can say parents should do this not Nick and if parents are not talking about it, so what it is still not a televison shows job to do so. I myself wish I had no knowledge of the subject but those are the breaks.
I don't see why you people are spazzing now when Nick's pretty much been flushing itself down the toilet for the past couple of years.

First off, I applaud the posters who have been keeping a calm and collected head about this topic and discussing it rationally. Unfortunatly, some posters have not and have beem flying off the handle. One poster has...about three or four times...and has been promptly banned for breaking the rules. I understand how controversial this subject matter is, but please keep a cool head about this subject. If you can not, then simply don't reply. Hatred fill posts and out right bashings are not tolerated here, and will be deleted and lead to warnings and eventually a banning. So please...just follow the rules - that's all we mods ask.
Now...back to the subject...

I have no problem with this. Homosexuality is as real as hetrosexuality and I don't think should have to be dodged. I don't think either sexuality preferences should need to be explained explicitly at this is age, however, I think an understanding that some people of the same sex is something than kids should be told.
The sooner they learn this, the less likely they will fear homosexuals at a later age.

Maybe it's a good thing Nick is gonna show this. With some posters flying off the handle and others posting lesser ignorant remarks, I think that's evidence enough that somebody, shoot even Nickelodeon, might as well try to promote tolerance. I seriously doubt they're preaching and promoting homosexuality as a lifestyle, trying to turn kids onto it. Rather just a way to decrease the hate.
