Jason X news and sequel talk! (Spoilers!)

On the Jason X news front, in an interview with IGN, Jason X writer Todd Farmer wants to do Jason X 2 and 3! He contrived Jason X to be first in a trilogy (similar to Scream) after Uber Jason crashed landed on Earth 2 in a lake. Obviously New Line wants to see how Jason X does first, but it's looking promising. These types of movies don't cost a whole heck of a lot to make, so it's very possible.

This next bit of news comes from the diabolical-dominion...

"Yes, even more Jason X tidbits (we're excited, leave us alone) director James Isaac told Sci Fi Wire that the dreaded ratings board requested only measly little edits when it gave Jason X its R rating. "We got away with everything," Isaac told the site. "I'm not really sure why. When we showed it to the MPAA, I had a whole list of things that I was prepared to just take out. They apparently had a great time at the screening, and it was a very rough cut. They were happy with it, and I had to take out a few minor things."

When talking about what he did have to cut down, he said that,"I had to trim a scene when a man falls onto the big screw and spins around. That went on forever. We really kind of milked that, knowing I would have to trim it, so I just had it in there for like a minute. It was horrible. They said, 'Can you trim a few frames out of that?' Like, yeah! We thought for sure the guy that was cut in half, I didn't think that would ever be in a movie, so I covered it all over the place with just head shots and tried to play the drama of the moment. They didn't say a word about that. David Cronenberg getting killed was like 'Well, a little too much blood,' and since I added the blood CG, we took that out."

"Jason X is everywhere, Hodder, Isaac and Farmer are talking to everyone they can in order to promote this film. Case in point: While talking to ComingSoon.com Jim Isaac, the director, went into detail about the new look of Jason in the tenth movie. For those unaware Stephan Dupuis, the man who did "The Fly" and "Naked Lunch" is the guy responsible for the latest Jason design.

When talking about the look of Uber Jason, which comes about after Jason is killed, then comes back (of course,) Isaac had this to say, "As far as the actual look of the design, I wanted something that was powerful, kind of sexy, still holding true to the Jason mask and I threw out those kind of ideas to Stephan. Stephan started drawing. We went through all kinds of different drawings and eventually Stephan came up with this look. I wanted to mesh flesh with metal." After discussing how the change comes about, and I don't want to ruin it in case you don't know, he goes on to say that, "-we went to leather. I thought black on the chrome look would be slick looking. It was like designing a car in a way, just trying to find the sleek lines that are cool but still menacing. And I wanted something to reflect light, something that when you shot it we could do nice shadows and something that would really be visual. That was Stephan's design. I just gave him a bunch of information, things I wanted. He came up with drawings and drawings and paintings and then came up with Uber."
