"Film of the Month" Selection Thread: March 2014

    Like This Thread!
So, we got slim pickins here this month. I was hoping on abit more, but all are interesting films nonetheless.

    1. Charly (1968)
    Dir: Ralph Nelson

A quasi-sci fi film about a mentally handicapped man who undergoes an experiment to advance his intelligence. Features an Oscar-winning performance from Cliff Robertson.
    2. G.I. Jane (1997)
    Dir: Ridley Scott

So after he allowed a woman to take down an alien all by her lonesome, Ridley Scott made this film about a woman who becomes a Navy S.E.A.L. Early roles from guys like Viggo Mortensen and Jim Caviezel.
    3. Dead Ringers (1988)
    Dir: David Cronenberg

Jeremy Irons plays dual roels as identitical twin gynecologists. The film is very loosely based on two real-life twin doctors.
That's all we got right now. There's plenty of time to choose before the end of the month, and we're going on to April. I will post the March thread in the beginning of the month with the nominations thread for April.

I really enjoy the thread and just voted but if possible could you do a film of the month selection of a recent movie or category created within that month?
    Example:
    March 2014
    1.300 Rise of the empire
    2.Need for speed
    3. Sabotage

We don't do the ones from just released, cause James Harvey or anyone including you can create a "talback" thread of your own. We mostly do older films on this thread.

So, we have a tie. We NEED NEED NEED someone to come along and break it or I'll have to go to elimination round next week in which we'll pit both films against each other one more time.

Well thank you guys for voting and coming through. I really was surprised to get a tie, very cool.

So the weekend of the 1st we'll post the winning film and also the nomination thread. You got about a week to look for Charly probably on Netflix or Amazon which I do believe they have. So enjoy and store up thoughts on the next film for nominations.
