"Film of the Month" Selection Thread: September 2013

    Like This Thread!

Yes, sorry, it's a few days late, but it's time to select the "Film of the Month" for September! Up for nomination this month, we have the following:

    1. The Beastmaster

    Directed by Don Coscarelli
    Released 1982
    1 Hour 59 Minutes (Instant Video/DVD Copy)

A courageous young man uses his supernatural ability to communicate with animals to avenge his father's murder by an evil priest, and to rescue a beautiful slave girl from human sacrifice.
    2. Ghostbusters

    Directed by Ivan Reitman
    Released 1984
    1 hour 46 Minutes (Instant Video/DVD Copy)

Ghosts invade New York and force a trio of spirit exterminators to save the city in one of the biggest comedies of all time. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver head the all-star cast.

...and that was it, as far as nominations. What, was everyone heading back to school this month and missed voting?!?

Okay, so I'll add some nominations from the "What are you Watching" thread:

    3. Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?

    Directed by Robert Aldrich
    Released 1962
    2 hours 14 Minutes (Instant Video/DVD Copy)

Bette Davis and Joan Crawford star in a tense psychological drama between two sisters, one a former child star and the other a crippled ex-silent star.

    4. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

    Directed by David Fincher
    Released 2011
    2 Hours 39 Minutes
    (Instant Video/DVD Copy)

A murder mystery rife with suspense, scandal, sexual abuse, and some supremely intriguing characters, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is an excellently crafted film adaptation of Stieg Larsson's equally fascinating book of the same name.

    5. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

    Directed by Stephen Chbosky
    Released: 2012
    1 Hour 43 Minutes (Instant Video/DVD Copy)

Freshman Charlie is a loner until he falls under the spell of the free-spirited Sam and her fearless stepbrother, Patrick, in this adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's best-selling novel.

The poll in this thread will be open for 5 days, closing next Friday night.

So, make your vote, comment on your choice, raise questions, ask for links to good reviews or author info, whatever, but be sure to vote!! .

I've seen Ghostbusters so much I dream it. The others don't interest me, except Beastmaster which I kinda planned on but wasn't sure if something better was coming along.
