Anybody ever seen a theatrical reissue?

    Like This Thread!
Here are the theatrical re-releases I've seen.

    E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (2002 - 20th Anniversary)
The Lion King (2011 - 3D world premiere at D23 Expo
Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (2012 - 3D)

My mom saw the following reissues of
    Bambi (1982)
Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs (1983)
    E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (1985 & 2002)
    Fantasia (1985)
    Gone With The Wind (1998)

Have any of you seen a reissue of a feature or short.

I saw the Final Cut of Blade Runner in 2007. I happened to be in the L.A. area at the time, and fortunately its run was extended for a second week, so I was able to see it the morning I was to return home. It was amazing to see on the big screen.

I've also seen a few "one night specials" by Fathom Events, but I don't think those really count as re-releases.

I also saw that. In addition the first Disney film I saw was Peter Pan in the 80's.

I went to see Ferngully when the local 99 cent theater played it again a few years after release. That was probably the last one I went to, since Carmike took over and they're not in the habit of doing this.

I saw Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D, I plan on seeing all of the 3D re-releases assuming that they'll be continuing. I wish I could've seen the first two Nolan Batman films when they were being re-released by a nearby theater with The Dark Knight Rises, but I found out too late.

The recent Batman Begins and TDK re-releases might be the only ones I've seen.

I saw the 1996 re-issue of Oliver & Company. I thought it was a new movie. I also saw the 3D rereleases of The Lion King and Beauty & the Beast along with the IMAX re-issue of the latter. I also remember seeing Wizard of Oz in theaters sometime around 1997 or 1998.

I remember my dad said he saw a rerelease of Snow White in the '60's and he thought it was a brand new movie.

Star Wars: A New Hope Special Edition
When LOTR: ROTK came out I went to a marathon with the extended editions of the fist two.

Eek! I forgot about the Star Wars Special Editions. Yeah, I saw all three of those in 1997 as well.

I've only seen the Toy Story reissues and ET. Re-issues are not my thing. These movies often end up on TV, so I never really saw the need to go and see them a second time in theatres.

I wish there was a consistent schedule for those Fathom Event, my local theater always has adds for them, but I only seem to find out about them on the day they come out. I'll browse their website one of these days, I'm sure everything is neatly laid out. I missed the BR rerelease when it hit art house, I've still never forgiven myself. Still never seen The Final Cut either. I have zero interest in 3-D rereleases of much of anything, that's just going to encourage more 3-D retrofitting, which is not something the world needs, IMO.
Not it will most likely do any good, but I encourage any interested parties to sign this petition.

Special one-off screenings have probably popped up from time to time at various places, but for the 2007 Final Cut release, it played only in L.A. and New York at one theater each, so I'm sure a lot of people missed it. I wish studios would do a better job promoting re-releases, though. In 1999, I had absolutely no idea that Alien was back in the theater. Even though it was a slightly different cut, I still would've loved to seen it on the big screen.

The only theatrical reissues I have seen are the three 1997 Star Wars movies. Saw them three weeks in a row since is now the theater got them.
If you want the FUNimation Channel, click here for more information (remember if there is no demand for it, you will never get it).

Alien I did see. The so-called "director's cut" was an interesting but largely pointless curio that attempted to change a movie that was already perfect, but it really is breathtaking in 35mm. BR DID show in my neck the woods, albeit briefly, or at least it was schedule to, but I but missed my shot. I find the idea of a revival house fascinating, but sadly while I love DVD, it has mostly killed that. It's very rare for most multiplexes to show anything indie or art-house, and most places with cool screenings in my area are either out-of-the-way, or show stuff at weird times.

I saw Pinocchio when I was real little. I didn't know at the time that it was the tail end of Disney's famous re-issues (which I guess has been restarted with 3D).

Saw the Star Wars special editions in '97.

Not technically re-issues, but recently TCM did a live streaming of two classic films into theaters for a one-night only kinda deal: Casablanca a few months ago, and Singin' in the Rain just a few weeks ago. I loved both and I hope they do more (If they do Adventures of Robin Hood or a Marx Bros. film I'll flip).
