I haven't had the chance to skim through it just yet, but Louis C.K. getting a best actor nom for Louie along for a best directing nom for the episode "Duckling" along with a writing nom for "Pregnant" and Sherlock getting a few noms is quite pleasing to see.
Yup. It's a signature. Go away if you're expecting something interesting here.

Another year, another snub for How I Met Your Mother and its cast.

    Why am I not surprised?

Lead Actor In A Comedy Series has every single adult male character from Modern Family. They're more than half of the nominations. That's not fair at all.
Nothing to see here, just keep on with what you were doing...

I can't even think why Modern Family is in the Outstanding Comedy nominations this year. It wasn't really a great season. It was kinda just there. I'm a bit annoyed that Parks and Recreation got a giant snub considering it was probably the series' strongest season so far. I can't speak for Big Bang Theory, but I highly doubt it did anything of note with that laughtrack to earn a nom either. Community easily earned a slot but it too got the snub.

Why is it that a lot of shows besides Modern Family get snubbed? Like the Son of Anarchy. And Community like you said Matt H? As Emmys seem to love Modern Family. IMHO, it is an overrated show. Though it seems popular too.

*sigh* The Big Bang Theory does not use a laugh track. It's taped with a live audience. It really bugs me that people think every sitcom uses a laugh track. I believe the shows on Nick and Disney do, but The Big Bang Theory and some of the other network sitcoms do not. They have an actual audience.

In any event, I'm glad to see Mayim Bialik receive a nomination. She's been a great addition to the show since joining full-time.

Nick's shows use a laugh track, but Disney's uses a live studio audience.

They both are terrible an unnecessary.

As for Modern Family, I have never liked the show and I don't understand its popularity. I'd rather watch Full House.

Man, really? I'd rather watch anything over Full House myself.

As for Modern Family, I like the show and I don't think it's had a significant drop in quality myself, but its flaws have become quite apparent over the years. Primarily that the show has a strong urge to use EVERY character in the family in every episode, whether they're needed or not. It was a cute trend at first that has become increasingly tedious and tiresome as it goes along. I can also take or leave Lily now that she's old enough to talk and factor into the storylines more.

I dunno, it still has its moments, but I'd easily trade its nominations out for more love for Louie, Community, and my precious HIMYM, among others.

I liked the first season of Modern Family, but after that I'm not sure what happened. Maybe the novelty of it wore off or something once it started growing in popularity and people started acting like it was one of the greatest shows on TV. (Also, I frankly don't really care for most non-live audience comedies, which is my preferred style of sitcom.) So yeah, I enjoyed it early on but, like you, would rather watch Full House. At least that show was fun and goofy and never pretended to be anything else.
