Becoming it's 13th number one debut, Pixar's newest film Brave was the number one movie this weekend earning $66.7 million which is a little more than last summer's Cars 2. For a Pixar movie, while it's received good reviews, critically this isn't one of Pixar's best as it has a 74% rating at RottenTomatoes.

It's two week reign at number is over as Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted fell one spot to second place with $20.2 million and a $157.5 million total.

Opening in third place was Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter with $16.5 million on a $69 million production budget.

    In fourth place was
Prometheus with $10 million and a $108.5 million total.

And rounding out the top 5 is
Rock of Ages with $8 million and a $28.7 million total.

Also opening this weekend all the way down in tenth place was
Seeking A Friend for the End of the World which opened in 1,625 theaters and earned $3.8 million.

Out of the top 12 this weekend is
Battleship (14th), and The Dictator (19th).

Opening next weekend are four new movies! First up is
Magic Mike (rated R) starring Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Cody Horn, Olivia Munn, Matt Bomer, Riley Keough, Joe Mangianello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez, and Gabriel Iglesias.

    Next is
Ted (rated R) with Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel McHale, Patrick Warburton, Jessica Stroup, Laura Vandervoort, and Seth MacFarlane as the voice of Ted.

    Then we have
People Like Us (rated 13) with Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks, Olivia Wilde, Michael Hall D Addario, Philip Baker Hall, Mark Duplass, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

    And finally we have
Tyler Perry's Madea's Witness Protection (rated PG-13) with Tyler Perry, Eugene Levy, Denise Richards, Doris Roberts, Danielle Campbell, Romeo Miller, Tom Arnold, John Amos, and Marla Gibbs.

    Here are your numbers....

I have a feeling Brave is going to take the number one spot next weekend. Considering that the compettiton is the Channing Tatum stripping movie, another Madea flick, a drama that will probably preform at best at the level of Seeking a Friend at the end of the World, and yeah Seth MacFarlane's big screen debut. Which is probably the biggest compettion but considering it's an R and it hasn't exactly been getting the most buzz I think Brave has smooth sailing until the Amazing Spiderman in July which will probably be when we get another huge Box Office weekend. Avengers or Dark Knight Huge? Guess we'll have to wait and see on that.

Okay I'll admit to being totally off on this weekend's estimates. Especially since Brave wound up getting third overall as both Magic Mike and Ted seem to be beating it. Still though it's not quite so bad. Even if it is 3rd, Brave is going to make 34+ million this weekend so it didn't even fully fall 50 percent. Plus it's already at 131 million, and Cars 2 only had 191 million overall so Brave can still outgross that. I mean if Brave gets 200 million that would be enough (which is still possible. Amazing Spiderman may be coming out but everyone's still going to be seeing a lot of movies fourth of July and Brave is still the top family movie right now until Ice Age 4 comes July 13th) and it's nothing that groan inducing. Really I think this is more Ted and Magic Mike being bigger hits then estimated then Brave being a flop.
