    The Hub Family Movie Thread

    Like This Thread!

Well, since some of The Hub's Movies are Live-Action, i felt like wanted to make about it since it would be nice to reveal more about the movies every month. It is a very late Thread about it, But i think it needs to have one, just to recap on what will air in the following months from now, and then.

UPDATE: Starting in May, we'll officially going back to the routine with the films, except with a new catergory for Original Hub Family Movies!

The Muppet movies are really good and Always love seeing Gremlins 2 on tv~one of the best movie sequels imo.....however, one of the worst sequels was probably Ace Ventura. No desire to see that one on there.....

By the way, what the hell is that music they use for the new commercial for these movies? I hate when it comes on.(which is almost evey break) It's freaky as heck and kinda scares me lol.....

Interesting that they're showing only the second Gremlins and not the first (although I consider the second to be better, one of the most insane movies I've ever seen). Maybe because of Phoebe Cates' explanation of why she hates Christmas?

Although, I can see why they're showing the second Ace Ventura instead of the first. The first is going to take some serious editing in order to be shown on a family channel.

The Gremlins aired last year. So, it kind of explains why the sequel is airing now instead of the first, kind of late to state on it.

On the other hand, the second Ace Ventura movie (along with the second Gremlins movie) is still rated PG-13. While they are "family" movies to an extent (especially the second Gremlins movie), I really don't think showing PG-13 rated movies (which, yes, would include the three live-action Transformers movies and the live-action G.I. Joe movie) is a good idea. Long story short, even though the movies are edited for "family" viewing, that's not always good enough. Edited or not, showing PG-13 rated movies could put the network in a position where they could start showing movies that aren't really all that family friendly, but technically meet the network's "criteria", which really isn't fair to anybody; the viewers or the network. I've said this before, but I don't want to see The Hub start becoming another ABC Family: a network that tries to work around/subvert itself by resorting to technicalities; something that tends hint at possible network decay (which, at least for right now, The Hub currently has no signs of showing). Just saying.
Cartoons aren't "just for kids"...but they're not just for adults either. They're for everyone.

Didn't know if you wanted this announced yet but.
    Spoiler:
I noticed on the guide on my DVR that on Saturday June 2nd the movie airing is the live-action 101 Dalmatians. Of course I don't know if this is a Hub premiere or not.

Those movies are mostly decent and all. But, I think The Hub should air all four An American Tail movies and the first The Land Before Time. It's just me I guess. What do you think?

I'm surprised Cartoon Network didn't pick up the first two Scooby-Doo live action films.

The original live action movies never aired on Cartoon Network?

The subtitle on one of them is incorrect. It's actually called:

    Spoiler:
    "Seventh Inning Fetch"

I looked up "The Burrowers" on Google, and I got results for an R-rated horror western movie from 2008. Maybe you mean "The Borrowers"? That would be more in line with a family network like The Hub.

Oops, I meant the Borrowers, I think it could be the 1997 John Goodman film of the same name...

Cool, that film is really good. I hope that means that The Hub will also air Subzero and Mystery of the Batwoman eventually.
