David Blain..... Or I want to levitate too!

    Like This Thread!
I just caught that old old TV special where David Blain was doing street magic. I missed it when it came on Network TV but I watched it tonight when it came on TLC.

Now I used to be a Birthday Clown/Magician, was obsessed for a LOOOOng time with magic and whatnot so I can easily spot a gimmick or see through banter and misdirection, and on most of his card tricks I have an inkling as to what was going on, but I have no idea how he gimmicked that floatin trick.

True the cameras we're likely very selective in what angles they were showing, and the peeps on the street aren't going to be looking for what I might; But if anyone has any ideas how he did that, even if it was like chi or meditation or anything let me know. I'm utterky curious.

Anyway for those of you who saw it, what'd ya think? Is Blain a top notch illusionist? I think he had a much cooler approach than Copperfield or the big stage magicians. I always enjoyed small scale one on one stuff, you gt better reactions than a room full of applause.

EDIT: Well of course I should have just looked it up, but I now know how to levitate! Wheee hooo, ain't the internet great? I thought the days of camera tricks were dead and gone, stupid stupid stupid.

It's called the Balducci levitation, and it's pretty easy to do:

Most professional magicians hate David Blaine because he got famous doing relatively easy tricks. He also used a lot of camera tricks in his TV specials. He's just good at self-promotion.

A bit of useless information ( ) Fiona Apple used to date David Blaine. But I guess she got tired of the street tricks.

That's totally irrelevent to the original post, but eh. I love spouting useless information.
