I did like how this review is better than Nostalgia Critic's review, covering things a Pokemon fan would know, that helps add light to the film overall.
It's still pretty lousy though. I admit when I was young I cried when Ash "died" and the tears brought them to life, but this movie.....man, I think I've grown out of the Pokemon shows and movies. I can barely watch them now, but it's nice to see that they haven't gotten worse, but they were always bad.
One crazy theory I always had was that the lessons Ash and the humans learned, being that fighting was wrong, would've made them abandoned Pokemon battles, and they would tell the world how bad it was. But since Mewtwo wiped their memories, they continued battling as if nothing happened.
I dunno, it helps make the lesson seem less hypocritical in a way, by making people realizing forcing creatures to fight was wrong, no matter what the reason.
    But that's just me.

Bring on the Pokemon 2000 review! It's my favorite of the movies, so I want to see if its merits are still strong.

I really really want NC to review Batman Beyond. He reviewed S:TAS and he's talked about B:TAS to death so this would be logical. It's pretty nostalgic and there are some good jokes he could make out of it.

    Anyone agree with me?

It depends on if he's familiar with it. If he isn't, it'll turn out like the Pokemon First Movie review complained about above.

The NC Pokemon review was great. Like the Critic, I never saw Pokemon enough to have an in-depth understanding of the series. I was going into the movie just as blind as Doug.

Eh..I don't know. Doug is really hit and miss with stuff that he didn't watch when he was growing up like the dullness of Nick month a couple years ago and like Pokemon( at least for those who were hardcore fans of the show ).

Doug said in his commentary of his top 11 B:TAS episodes that he watched some of this show. He said it wasn't a bad show but it was trying to hard to be like B:TAS.

I really liked his S:TAS review so I think it has potential to be really funny.

I cried the first few times I saw this movie when I was little during the part where Ash "died" too. In retrospect, I really should have realized that there was no way that they would kill of the main character in a movie. Personally, I don't think Pokemon movies have always been bad. There are a few movies, besides Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, that I think could be considered good, or at least decent, movies. Though, I'm probably biased in that regards due to being such a fan of the franchise, but I think that there are some good Pokemon movies along with the dull/bad ones.

That's one of my favorite Pokemon movies too, so I'm curious as to how they'll handle it.

Rather than a new NC this week because he's busy filming the fourth Anniversary, Doug has posted a commentary on his review of The Grinch.

Pretty much had a hunch that the fourth Anniversart event was currently being filmed, given the lack of April Fools videos by the TGWTG crew this year (with the only one that I'm aware of being done by Obscurus Lupa).

In addition to Oancitizen there were others who did April Fools Days jokes actually.

SciFiGuy did a review of Stardust in the guise of the Fantasy Guy.

Welshy did a list of the "top" Rose moments from Dr. Who that were really showing just how awful the character of Rose is. Truthfully you'd have to know Welshy and his tastes of Dr. Who to really get the joke but it still counts.

Angry Joe did a video about Guild's War 2 release which was really just a "psyche here's something random instead for 30 seconds" video.

Blockbuster Buster did a review of Sucker Punch in one of his alternate persona's and a 30 second one sentance review of Percy Jackson

And on his site (not on TGWTG or his blip page) Phelous did a review of the first episode of his old series Mortal Komedy.

In truth not really as good as some of the great pranks from last year but I think due to the anniversary filming being the week of April Fools that was the best that could be done at the time.
Instead of just using this new signature to celebrate a thousand more post, let me list of all the great things you can expect of me on this board for 2012:

...... The same talkbacks you saw me do last year but with new episodes.

.... What are you doing still reading this? Move to the next post already! .

That's what I meant by the "lack of April Fools videos" comment: this was more in reference to the big names of the site (i.e. Doug, Spoony) doing something for April Fools Day.

Kind of funny having an Old vs. New video where the "new" film is a decade old. Anyways, Manhunter mops the floor with Red Dragon, which is more faithful to the book, but is shot with all the visual flair of a made-for-TV movie. I kind of wish Doug would break down his comparisons to include the technical side of the filmmaking...what about the cinematography, music, visual effects, all of that? Brett Ratner is certainly no Michael Mann.

I don't fault him so much for not being Michael Mann as I do for being Brett Ratner .
Not it will most likely do any good, but I encourage any interested parties to sign this petition.

Sage and the Nostalgia Critic ruin their eyes with Starchaser: The Legend Of Orin. Intriguing.

Pretty solid review, this movie looks like an interesting watch... on mute. Maybe I can believe the butt-rape getting past the MPAA, but the pedophilia joke? Yeesh. Not to mention Zygon getting cut in half... they stole Darth Maul's fate from Star Wars Episode I 14 years before it happened! (jk)

Next week: yay, Transformers! Maybe it'll be a ROTLSA where he finds the material hasn't aged well for once.
