Weekend Box Office: 'Dolphin Tale' swims from 3rd to 1st!

Last weekend Dolphin Tale opened in third place, but this weekend it bumped up to first place taking the weekend crown four new opening movies. Dolphin Tale earned another $14.2 million for a total of $37.5 million!

Staying in second place was Moneyball with $12.5 million and a $38.4 million total.

After two weeks in first place The Lion King (in 3D) dropped to third place with another $11 million and a very impressive $79.6 million total!

Opening in fourth place was the R rated comedy 50/50 with $8.85 million.

And rounding out the top 5 and opening was Courageous with $8.8 million.

Also opening was Dream House in sixth place with $8.2 million and What's Your Number? in eighth place with $5.6 million.

Out of the top 12 this weekend is The Debt (14th), Rise of the Planet of the Apes (15th), and I Don't Know How She Does It (17th).

Opening next weekend are two new movies. First up is Real Steel (rated PG-13) starring Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly, Dakota Goyo, Anthony Mackie, and Kevin Durand.

And the other new movie of the weekend is The Ides of March (rated R) with Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei, Paul Giamatti, Jeffrey Wright, Max Minghella, and Evan Rachel Wood.
