It's golden!
Then why is the trailer's title GOLDMEMBER?
(I always wanted SECRETLY SERVICING HER MAJESTY)
You must have seen the teaser trailer. Well, I think you might have heard about the whole Goldmember thing and MGM. This new title hasn't been confirmed YET, but if this is the new one, I wonder if New Lines consulted with MGM.
I was once called Patrick Star....a looooooong time ago.........then I needed a break.
I'd be happy if ANYONE remembered me!

I remembering hearing that the original name for Austin Powers 2 was supposed to be Austin Powers: The Wraith of Khan. They just can't keep a funny title.
How about Austin Powers: The Last Crusade for this one?

Oh, did anyone notice that in the beginning credits or whatever of AP2, I believe, where Austin is in the pool with the sychronized swimmers, that in one part, one of the girl's hat falls over her eyes after doing a move or something in the pool. I saw it on this ABC show for errors in movies. Like they showed one in Godzilla from many years ago.
Well, it was supposed to be "Austin Powers: Goldmember", but word is that a few credit card companies sued to have the name taken out of the film. And based on this, they re-wrote it as "Never Say Member Again". Funny, no?Originally posted by Sugar Daddy

I thought it was because New Line sued, because it was similar to an old Bond film title.Originally posted by Evil Dr. Reef

No, New Line owns the rights to Austin Powers and MGM owns the rights to Bond.Originally posted by Sugar Daddy

Let me out.
Ah, besting the power hungry corporations!![]()
Or Austin Powers is an Octopussy![]()
So, will MGM sue over this one? Considering how little "Goldmember" had to do with "Goldfinger"...

You read it... you can't un-read it!
I think the new title, assuming it is legit, is a great flip at the nose of MGM. I really don't see how it will pass since the other one didn't, though. If they can't get away with Goldmember then how do they get away with this one? Never Say Member Again=Never Say Never Again
Here's a quick run-down. In 1999, New Line Cinema released a 2nd Austin Powers installment entitled Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. MGM tried to kill that title, but the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) ruled in favor of New Line. When New Line announced that the name of the 3rd Austin Powers installment would be Goldmember, MGM once again complained, and this time won the favor of the MPAA, so New Line recalled all promotional material and got to work on a new name. There is still no official title for Austin Powers 3, and at the moment, New Line is denying the rumors that it will be "Never Say Member Again." Oh, and for those of you who can't get enough of these hilarious titles, wait till you see the name of the movie-within-a-movie in Austin Powers 3. It's a good one.

wuh oh
If Mike Myers came up with that and gets away with it, he is my new hero. That is absolute classic, its a double meaning and that is genius! Now I'm not sure, but didn't Warner Brothers make "Never Say Never Again"? Wasn't that the one where Sean Connery's like fifty something with Kim Basinger in Las Vegas?
