Well, we're at what feels like the halfway point for summer movies, and while we have lots of big titles coming up... (Final Fantasy, Jurassic Park 3, and Planet of the Apes ...to name a few) we have had a fair share of the good, the bad, and downright ugly movies so far... so, what movies have stuck out as being highlights of the summer movie season thus far?

My picks:

Shrek -- A Fun movie, very entertaining, all the voice talent does a wonderful job and even a fairy tale moral showing that the happy ending isn't always what you expect

The Mummy Returns -- a decent sequel. Enjoyable romp, and not too much of "The Rock" (although that's debatable). The little kid works and can act... and wasn't as annoying as Anakin of summers past.

A.I.: Artificial Intelligence -- So it's been the subject of lots of controversy... people hating it because it's not your typical movie. I've gotten lots of mixed reviews on this one, but I absolutely loved it. A Very enjoyable futuristic "Pinnochio" that doesn't go down the road you expect it. It has it's Kubrick-esque qualities which makes it work. It tugs on the heart strings and makes you really think about what it means to be Orga...er...human.

Well, what about you guys?
