I watched the pilot episode of this show last season - and it wasn't half bad. Has the show improved any? Would I still enjoy it if I jumped at any episode, like, say, tonight's episode?

I know I haven't posted these in a while due to little interest, but I thought I would try again since it was announced a week ago that the second season was picked up for a full season. A new episode airs tonight at 8:30 PM Eastern.

I actually watched a few episodes recently, and although they were still a bit uneven, I thought they were quite a bit better than the truly awful first season. Poehler seems to have reined in her character a little bit, the pacing is slightly snappier, and the writing has definitely improved.
My favorite episode so far was the one with the Venezuelan Parks department. It was much better than anything The Office has delivered this season. I'd almost go as far as to say it was hilarious.

Episode 2.10: "Hunting Trip"
Writers:
Director:
Trying to prove that she is capable of just hanging with the guys, Leslie tags along with Ron on his annual hunting trip, which doesn't work out exactly as she had hoped.

If someone would have told me last year that Parks and Recreation would one day be funnier than The Office, I think... well, actually, The Office already sucked pretty hard last season, but you get the point. Parks is really starting to come into its own. It's far from the best comedy on TV, but it has its moments, and this week's moment was definitely Andy not understanding the spit-take game. Donna tackling Leslie was also hilarious, even if her reasons were a little unclear, and the chauvinistic park ranger was pure class.
Query: Maybe I'm betraying a general lack of understanding when it comes to hunting and firearms here, but just how do you get shot in the head and live to tell the tale?

Episode 2.11: "Tom's Divorce"

"They'll only talk to you or me and I can't go because I don't want to."

I don't watch this show, but I happened to catch that line after Community was over and I thought it was hilarious!!

I love the show.
I remember seeing it on a list of cancelled shows and was saddened. Then I saw it on a renewed list and was happified! They're doing a nice job of fleshing out the characters, all of which are interesting in their own way.

Fun fact: that's almost exactly how Chuck Norris talked Bill Clinton into going to North Korea to get those two jailed journalists back a few months ago, right down to Amy Poehler's pitch perfect "don't-wanna" moan.
Anyway, another good episode, although it appears I am as clueless about pool as I am about firearms, because it seemed to me that Mark did sink that last shot? Either way, it was a fun bit, which reminded me of the time I tried to hustle Reese Witherspoon in a game of golf. I should have known I was out of my depth by the look the guy at the pro shop gave me when I asked for a golf racket.
I liked the trip to the Glitter Factory, particularly because I expected it to trigger one of my usual rants on the subject of TV nudity. It's not that I particularly want or need nudity, but I hate TV trying to insult my intelligence with people having sex almost fully clothed, or strippers always wearing bras. Blurring it or strategically covering it is cool, particularly for a mockumentary show, something I wish to Zod Battlestar Galactica had done, when their recent DTV went a little bit too far in addressing my previous rants on the subject. And speaking of sausages, Ron's obsession with free breakfast buffets was as hilarious as it was disturbing. That thing didn't even have a sneeze guard, much less protection from whatever else might be flying around an establishment like that. I sure hope he got all his shots before digging in.

I forgot to watch the premiere episode but I'm gonna watch it online! And although I haven't watch the full episode it definitely looked funny to me!

Another solid episode that did a nice job of advancing the characters, especially Leslie, Andy and April. (I hope they advance that relationship)

Same here. It was very well executed in what it was trying to do. It's almost even better than "The Office".

I dunno if it's 'almost even better' in my view, but just like when "My Name is Earl" was still on the air, there have been times where I've looked forward to seeing a new episode of "Parks and Recreation" just as much or more so than a new episode of "The Office". I like it that much!
