    WWE Superstars #18
    Thursday, August 13, 2009 @ 8 p.m. ET/7 CT on WGN America

    GOLD AND BEAUTIFUL
On this week's "WWE Superstars," United States Champion Kofi Kingston will join forces with the sexy, smart and powerful Divas Champion, Mickie James, in a Mixed Tag Team Match against Carlito & Rosa Mendes.

    DYNASTY DESTROYER?
John Morrison will square off against David Hart Smith on the next "WWE Superstars." Can Smith avenge his partner in The Hart Dynasty, Tyson Kidd, or will this second-generation Superstar be taking a ride on Starship Pain?

    EXTREMELY BIZARRE
Sheamus has defeated Goldust twice on ECW on Syfy, but on "WWE Superstars," The Bizarre One will have a chance at redemption as he takes on the brutal Irish ring warrior.

This was a good little episode of Superstars, mostly for the excellent Morrison vs David Hart Smith match. Just when I was beginning to think Smith was mostly a technically sound big man, Smith really showed his versatility here with this fast-paced match with Morrison that had quite a few big spots, specifically Smith's superplex on Morrison which looked devastating.

Goldust vs Sheamus was another good match between the two with a shock ending. The ending plus Sheamus' "It's not over!" makes me think it continues. And that'd be fine with me.

The mixed tag was the worst match of the night, especially when Rosa tried some weak looking offense on Mickie James for awhile. Carlito continues to win, but does anyone really think he's going to win the US belt? It seems like they have other things planned for the other Raw midcarders so they are making Kofi vs Carlito happen. Man, Carlito & Primo really should have stayed together. Primo is jobbing, and even with all of Carlito's wins as of late, I couldn't care less about him.

You're ashamed of going around calling yourself Poffo so you probably got the name Savage because you're ashamed of putting yourself on the same level as your brother because he is much better than you are. YOUR BROTHER IS A HUMAN BEING. YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A SCUMBAG. THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE; YOU'RE A DOG. YOUR NAME IS POFFO." - Ronnie Garvin to Randy Savage, ICW Wrestling, 1980.

Well I just got done watching this on Hulu and this was a good show up to the main event, which I thought was just awful.

I was a bit surprised to see Morrison face Smith in the opening contest. In reading the preview I thought for sure that would be the main event. It certainly deserved to be and I enjoyed watching it. It would seem a bit counterproductive to book Morrison against more-or-less hometown favorite Smith when he was facing Punk on SmackDown, but I guess they got around that by doing this at the RAW taping rather than the SmackDown one.

I like where this Goldust-Sheamus feud is going. The Celtic Warrior wanted to just roll over Goldust en route to 'claiming ECW as his own' but the former Intercontinental Champion is not going to be a stepping stone. Even if they never make it to a PPV, ECW needs more actual feuds on the show.

The mixed tag match was the least interesting on the card. Kofi's last notable outing with Mickie didn't go all that well and this was the same. I'm a bit intrigued at how depressed Carlito is, but I too don't see this really going anywhere.
