Jay Leno In Hospital, May Have Food Poisoning

BURBANK -- "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno has been hospitalized.
According to Tracy St. Pierre of NBC, Leno checked himself in to the hospital because he wasn't feeling well.
St. Pierre confirmed, tonight's show taping has been canceled.
There had been speculation that Leno may be suffering from food poisoning, however St. Pierre said she did not believe that was the case.
She would not elaborate on the comedian's condition, except to say Leno was being checked out by doctors.
He is said to be in "good spirits" and writing jokes from his hospital bed.

Guests on tonight’s show were expected to be Ryan Reynolds, Jules Sylvester and swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

Instead, NBC will run a previously aired show.

Gee, I hope he's alright.

I hope he's OK, too. Leno is a notorious work-a-holic, so he must be pretty sick if he's taking time off!

I've always liked Leno. I think he's a lot classier (and funnier) than Letterman.

Yeah, for him to have to cancel a taping, you know he must have been sick. Even when the show is reruns for a week, it's just a break for the rest of the show's staff/crew, while Jay is still off doing stand-up shows and working on other things. He's said before that to him, sitting on a beach reading a book with nothing else to distract him is like a nightmare. LOL!! He like to stay busy, especially since he doesn't live off the money he makes from The Tonight Show, but rather his stand-up and other things.

Not to turn this thread into that debate, but yeah, I agree. I've always compared as Jay being the goofy, loveable uncle you love to have visit, while Letterman is the overbearing, obnoxious uncle who you can't wait to have leave.
