    24 "Day 7: 1:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m." Talkback (Spoilers)

    Like This Thread!
Agent Moss and his team had to clear out of Starkwood, but they left Tony behind to meet with Starkwood Chairman Doug Knowles who had to been helping Senator Mayer and had agreed to help find the weapons. He got Tony to the building, but was then taken back to his office where Jonas Hodges coldly dropped him to his death. The weapons' location confirmed, President Taylor was prepared to follow through on the air strike until Hodges called her and showing her the ready missiles, threatened to launch then at U.S. cities. Taylor cancelled the air strike and secretly agreed to meet with Hodges. Back at the the FBI, Jack needs a donor to possibly help save him and rejected Renee's suggestion to contact his daughter Kim.

Due to lack of interest, 24 threads will no longer be bumped with a reminder to visit 24 Day 7: "Scenes from the next all-new hour" Talkback for discussion of the preview for next week. Discussion is still welcome in that thread if anyone is interested. Please remember that the previews should not be discussed in the regular thread out of respect for those who do not watch it. Thanks.

    Oh, dude.

    DUDE.

We all should have seen that coming. But they kept Tony good just long enough to make this work. I guess now we know what he was doing for all those episodes between the death of Dubaku and the beginning of the canister arc.

The other big twist in this episode, and also a source of some top-notch drama, was the Kim scene. Are they really going to forego the cure? I have no idea what is going to happen now...

    oh my GOD!!!

i knew something was wrong when Tony started looking around the streets all shifty eyed while riding the helicopter, i was like "why's he acting all shifty eyed and looking all stressed out and stuff", it was really suspicious. But i thought he was going to make a break for it and run away or something.

This makes no sense, if he was on starkwoods side the whole time why did he blow up all those missiles!!!!????

So was Tony in on the whole thing with Jonas, or was he a rogue in his organization? And who was the guy stealing the canister? was he Jonas' men switched teams or did he work for Tony all along? What can tony do with that canister? Did he really want to destroy the canisters for good reasons or for his selfish reasons? So many questions! Very Good Episode!

Fun fact: next week marks the beginning of the 6-episode rewrite. If you'll recall the various 24 articles that were flying around this past summer, you'll remember that they stopped production after episode 18 (this episode) because they weren't happy with the script and they wanted to make sure the end of the season was really great.

Now I can see why. This should be interesting...

This plot turn just really left a bad taste in my mouth, and just really didn't make much sense. It almost felt like they turned Tony(again) just to be shocking. And if they resurrect Tony just to have him get killed again it will really be stupid.

I just realized, Jack is going to freak when he finds out Tony did this. It might even snap him out of his funk and make him decide to get the operation after all.

Maybe. I mean, circumstances aside, the potential risk factor still holds true, and I don't know if that would change.

I'm no doctor, and I've never been at a Holiday Inn Express -- but it sounds the recovery from any sort of experimental stem cell treatment is something that would take days.

    But hours?

And, where in the bejeebers is Chloe?

My heart literally sank watching that, no. Damn, I guess the 24 writers still do have it in them to shock you. I hope there is at least a decent explanation for this, if not it will have been tragic to bring back Tony turn him good, then evil, and then dead again just for shock value.

I'd guess something along the lines of what Hodges hinted at, someone above Starkwood and Tony is involved in that organization. He assimilated himself in to the FBI and Jack's side in order to keep an eye on Hodges + Starkwood and make sure things didnt get out of hand for the mysterious "higher party".

Things got really tense for a while there, and it was really good. Unfortunately a lot of the positive qualities of the episode are taking the backseat to the final three minutes: Tony is once again on the wrong side.

I feel like it's been obvious for a long time, but only now am I truly realizing it: The writers don't care much for Tony. There seems to be a core character somewhere within the shell of Tony Almeida, but it's almost impossible to read. Ever since Michelle died, and even a little bit before, it seemed the writers were just keeping him in the show for consistency until they had a good idea for his death...and even that was unceremonious and punctuated an hour of awful "Woe is me, I look like a freak with this fake burn makeup" scenes.

This season I've been so happy to see Tony alive. He and Jack had a cool fight in the premiere, and it was an interesting revelation that Tony had gone bad, but still had limits and was willing to help save innocent lives. Now that he has a canister of nerve gas--presumably to use as leverage to make sure he's not taken back into custody--he's ruining his chance for a (second) presidential pardon, and I'm running out of patience for his character to start making good on his potential.

Hopefully the next six episodes will dispell my doubts, but with what we've seen of the "bad guy" version of Tony before, I'm not too hopeful.

And for the record, it was Elisha Cuthbert's name in the cast list on Wikipedia that spoiled me a couple months ago. At least they didn't make it into a surprise appearance, with the slow buildup starting last week, or I'd really feel gyped. Actually, for a second I sort of expected the woman in the waiting room to be an assassin with a blond wig who'd try to kill Bauer. 24, you make me think the silliest things.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me, except it was IMDB.com!

What's "gyped"? Do you mean "jipped"? (I do believe the latter is the proper spelling.)

Man, I can't believe Tony did that!!! I was so shocked and amazed at the time I couldn't really think about anything else. In thinking about it now, days after I saw it, there seems to be a failure in logic (for 24) with Tony destroying the missiles and then killing Larry to help Galvez hide with the canister. What could he possibly want? Galvez is probably part of a back-up plan, but Tony is the one that caused the plan to be put into action.

It was great watch Hodges and Seaton get arrested once President Taylor had confirmation the missiles had been destroyed, but as always it can't be that easy. Hodges implied there was more to come, but he can't know about Tony. Can he?

Jack reuniting with Kim made for some great scenes. She really is all grown up (thank God) and I hope she is able to help her dad/he lets her help him.

they brought back tony only to have him be a bad guy. Why?!

If anything, i really want jack to beat the crap out of him before he eventually kills him.
