This is the 5th season of Power Rangers. Most people says it sucks, but i would like to know your side of the story.

    Good concept- BAD execution.

For a transition season for a whole new team, the season was just a jumbled mess. And let's not even get started on Justin. Once again, good concept in having a pre-teen Ranger, but the execution and storyline were horribly pulled off.

To be fair, the later half of Turbo was better as Dimitria's riddles were done away with as well as the detonator redundancy.

Heck, Justin had better chemistry with the new Turbo cast than he did with Tommy and friends.

The episode where the rangers shrunk was awesome. it was my favorite episode of turbo. Divatox actully captured them and put them in a box. they looked like rats.

The best thing about Turbo was Divatox. She was a total babe. But yea one of the worst PR shows.

It wasn't horrible, but it never seemed like much ever happened, and the Sentai footage didn't give them much to work with. Also, even though the transition of the cast was probably essential to the show's longevity (it created the precedent of swapping the Rangers every year), it seemed a damn shame for old Rangers to leave so soon, since I think the group was a better set of actors then the ones who replaced them (though they got better in PRiS).

Divatox was great, though really only when the original one came back mid-season.

I liked Divatox but considering that the only scene I remember is when they all were baked into a pizza or something, that probably says a lot. Also, Justin really annoyed me. I always thought being a Power Ranger would be cool until I saw Justin and was like "That kid is weird." (This was when I was a kid so I think it's justified )

Plus, considering that Carranger was a parody series didn't exactly help the matter as much.

I wonder if people still say Turbo is the worst season after MF, OO, and JF. It was a masterpiece compared to those seasons.

My interest had begun to wane during the previous season and the jumbled, badly executed style of PRT (and the film; I strangely cringe more at that than the first film) sealed the deal. On a side note, Season 6, aka PRiS got me back in briefly, but I consider that season, primarily due to "Countdown to Destruction" to have been the true end of Power Rangers.

And, ironically, it was produced to be the true end of Power Rangers.

I only liked Turbo's 2nd half when Judd Lynn took over. That's when the season became watchable in my view. The 1st half was a total mess. Meh.

I think the problem and issue most people had/have with Justin is that kids -myself included- often wish they themselves could be Power Rangers. They don't want to live vicariously through a kid their age.

I mean hell, I always hate the 'everyman' characters or the kids that are supposed to be the "viewpiece" for the viewer or kids. Never liked 'em when I was younger and I still loathe them today.

Oh jeez, that one episode where Justin had super strength but couldn't use his Power Ranger suit. That's one of the main reason why I hated Justin.

The second half, with Phantom Ranger was awesome. And the twist with their new mentor was also awesome.

To be honest...yes, I still think Power Rangers Turbo was the worst "season" of the show. They kept Tommy, Adam, Kat, and Tanya too long, especially Tommy. In trying to adapt Carranger episodes, they took the characters to odd places that their storyline development wouldn't have indicated. Add into that Justin, Dimitria's original manner, and the "find the detonator" angle and its spot as worst has been sealed for me.

Doesn't mean other seasons haven't come close. Ninja Storm drove me batty.

Another minus for Turbo is bad use of Sentai footage. I'm refering to the episode where Porto enlarges himself and the Rangers try everything except for calling the Zords.

In Carranger the scene worked because the team didn't have their mechas, but on Turbo, the Rangers had a Megazord.

What most modern PR fandom forgets (or never knew) was that second half Turbo was largely ENJOYED when it debuted! The new Rangers are the legendary and beloved Space Rangers (all of whom get their sole characterization in PRT, because Space is The Andros Show), the storylines become goofy and wacky in the style of early MMPR while building up a slow simmering storyline involving Divatox exploiting her knowledge of the future, we had the Phantom Ranger and the Divazords arc... I would argue second half Turbo skews much closer to doing MMPR the way it actually was, except better. Dino Thunder, of course, is MMPR as we REMEMBER it being, except better.

Justin was a stupid idea, an attempt to make PR more like Beetleborgs, which was trouncing PR's ass in the ratings. The trouble was, nobody really liked BBBB for the kids. They liked Beetleborgs for everything but the kids. Similarly, Justin was never allowed to BE a kid by PR. We had COLLEGE-AGE Rangers babysitting a twelve-year-old. They had to kick Justin to high school just to make him a vague contemporary of the team, but at that point any hope Justin was an audience identification character flew out the window. Chip Lynn did a better job of showing how stunted Justin was emotionally by his genius in the second half that anybody did in the first. Carlos and Nico helping to engage him on terms appropriate to his age, LETTING him be a kid again. At his inception? He was a more obnoxious Fred Kelman.

Plus, coming off the awesome and military-industrial complex oriented Zeo... Carranger is going to seem like a letdown no matter how you slice it. Trying to make it more like Zeo at the beginning is only going to bring to the fore the deficiencies in the source material. Dimitria was annoying as hell when she could only speak in riddles (though she actually presented a brilliant storytelling angle in demonstrating how poorly Zordon actually was as a MENTOR), and Alpha being SUPER GUIDO made people want to kill him. Factor in the loss of Zedd and Rita... Turbo was just a lot of little things which collectively annoyed the fandom to no end. Especially after we came off of the sensationally strong and continuity-driven Zeo finale.

And the first eighteen episodes of Turbo isn't nearly as bad as some people make it out to be, but some of those episodes do suck.

Yeah, they could have at least had a explanation on why they couldn't use their zords.

I'm gonna agree with Mek. Justin was an awkward attempt at an audience avatar that failed to realise kids didn't want that. I think when you're a kid you look up to teenagers and adults, so the idea of the rangers being teenagers is attractive to the target audience. It was something to aspire to, that when you were more older, learned and matured you could be a hero. Justin was just an annoying kid who was suddenly hanging around with high school graduates and went into hyper puberty every time he morphed...creepy.

The bomb hunts...I'd forgotten those but yes, definetly an over focussed angle to sell one of the toys.

I was also never big on the Zords. After call robot dinosaurs, mythical creatures, ninja animals and shoguns we get...giant cars. I still remember that bit from the movie where the cars are normal size and then become gigantic. So what happens there? Do the rangers grow with them? If so, what happens when they combine? Bwah!
