Has a movie even been announced?
Yes it will be a disney channel orignal movie so it will air on disney channel
Crazy Crazy Rainbow Star~~~
I think it's too early for a movie. The movie should serve as the serie's finale when we get to see the Wizard tournament that determines who gets to keep their powers. My money's on the underdog, Max.

Spoiler:
The problem is he's too much of an underdog. He didn't even know that tape existed until he wanted to make a spell that would make a plastic that's sticky on one side. Not to mention that he hardly does/knows any spells. My prediction for the finale will be Justin becoming the family wizard and Alex using some kind of time spell to change the outcome but then she becomes overrun with responsibility and feels sorry for Justin not winning and changes everything back at the end. But this is of course just speculation.
It's obvious that Justin will become the family wizard and Alex will learn her lesson about being a slack off. In other words...kids will learn their lesson as well. You must work hard, kids! It's like with the Hannah Montana movie. Success is going to her head, so she must learn something.
I say nay to the film. The show is hard to get through because most of the jokes don't work, some of the main characters are annoying, and why should every show end with some film that may/may not be the final time we'll see them together? Like imagine if the film becomes another example of Spongebob Movie Syndrome. The movie's made but the ending will be ignored because of the creation of another season.
I don't need a signature. I'm too cool for one. LOL
Barring a spin-off (On Deck), or a last minute pick up (Raven), Wizards will end after the 3rd season, just like every other Disney tween-com.

Spoiler:
I said 18. She'll be 16 till July, I believe. In the next year she'll be busy with the third season of Wizards (which most of us suspect will be the final season) and then [she will be offered] a bunch of movie roles. So, she'll have no time for a season 4 of the show.

I personally can't get into Wizards of Waverly Place; I tried watching some episodes during a marathon, and while I like wizards and magic and will usually watch anything pertaining to them, the characters, plots, effects and stories in WoWP were just a big letdown for me. In short, WoWP was a promising idea, but the execution was weak.
However, it should be noted that I'm so far out of WoWP's targeted age demographic that it's not even funny. The fact is that the kids whom this show is aimed at love the series, and when a Disney Channel show is popular, then it gets a movie. And if that show is really popular, then it gets to go on beyond said movie. That's how it works.
