Well there is (or was) that new Zorro cartoon, Zorro Generation Z, if that counts.
I was disappointed with the last one (mainly because Zorro's son conveniently had great abilities and was given the nod of being the next Zorro). Also, since there was an 8 year gap between the first and second movies, they really should have done something good about the second one.

Nah I'm only interested in the movies.
I'm sure there'll be other Zorro movies somewhere down the road, but I think the book is closed on the Banderas/Zeta Jones version. A shame, though. The first movie was terrific, but they waited too long to produce a sequel, which turned out all kinds of wrong.
I remember not liking the first one much when I saw it, so I never bothered with the sequel. However, I think the casting of Antonio Banderas was a stroke of genius.![]()

We'll have to wait for a reboot someday. The Mask of Zorro was a fine film that did spectacular justice to the character, whereas The Legend of Zorro was an uninspired, embarrassing C-grade effort that's better left forgotten. Not nearly enough swashbuckling adventure, and the plot was annoying. Oh no, Zorro's marriage is in danger! I can't see much good coming of trying to continue the current continuity.
I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson
Just curious, but am I the only one who had a problem with the kid in "The Legend of Zorro"? Or is this one of the reasons it was hated by the general public?

Well, a third could always be about his son being a teen...er...

I had no problem with the kid. Better off letting him be part of the adventure than someone's hostage.
Anyway, if you like Zorro, you should try the new Zorro comic from Dynamite Entertainment. It's great.
Saturday Morning is not just part of the week. It's a state of mind.
The Mask of Zorro was a fantastic movie, but it was one of those things that should have either been left alone or had a quick trilogy. One day I want to see the real Zorro on the big screen. And by real I mean Don Diego de la Vega not some freakin' replacement.
It's like if WB decided to do a Batman Beyond movie. You can get away with one, two, or maybe three movies but that's about it. Batman is Bruce Wayne not Terry McGinnis. Zorro is Don Diego not Alejandro.
Rant is done.
I absolutely loved the first one. It was everything a Zorro movie should be, and yes, Banderas was near-perfect casting. They even managed to make Catherine Zeta Jones likable, which I think hasn't been achieved since.
Ditto.
Thank you.
You scared me there for a bit.
1- You're kidding right? You had absolutely no problem with the kid? At times its like he was the only male in the family who was wearing pants.I thought he was annoying as hell (And I'm euphamizing to avoid censorship).
2-I actually read one of the comics (you're talking about the new ones this year right?)
Thank you.I mean if it were not for the violence and language in this movie, I'd say this Zorro movie was a watered down kid's movie. They had 8 freaking years and this is what they came up with.
Exactly.
Uh, i do. I'm not steeped in zorro lore. Everyone, even people who don't read comics know that bruce wayne witnessed his parents murder as a child and grew up to become batman. Not everyone knows zorro's history.
