I've been meaning to watch the show but stuff's been getting in the way. I did catch a little bit of last week's episode, and it was kinda funny.
I'm surprised no one has made a talkback for the show yet. Anyway, I've been watching since it first started and IMO, I think its one of the funniest new sitcoms from last year. I thought Monday's episode was really good. The jokes clicked and seeing Raj acting high and mighty was hilarious.
The show airs Mondays at 8 PM Eastern on CBS.

Yes, there are amazing things up there in the universe, but they’ve got some very stiff competition down here on Earth!

I frikkin' love this show. I've been watching since the series premiere and have enjoyed every episode. I like how all the characters have their own quirks and personalities. They may all be "geeks," but they're all still different from each other. Whenever they get into discussions about movies or TV shows, it really reminds me of conversations with my own friends, so that's a big part of the appeal. I mean, I'm no genius, but I can see a bit of myself in these guys. And Kaley Cuoco is![]()
I'm glad the ratings are really good, and I believe Season 2 has already received a full order. My brother and I are looking into going to a taping sometime after the New Year, something we've done before. It's refreshing to finally have a funny sitcom back on the air again.
Big Bang certainly makes my list of funniest shows on TV. Its joke ratio probably exceeds anything else on TV, which does sometimes make it seem a little bit punchline orientated, but when the punchlines are as good as this, that's not necessarily a bad thing.
What is a bad thing, though, is that Penny isn't cute or funny enough to make the whole thing work as it could. Leonard isn't a very likable character, and he seems to work best as the straight guy setting up Sheldon's jokes, and why anyone thought casting Sara Gilbert in something that's supposed to be funny is beyond me.
Leonard not likeable!?![]()
It's not that he's completely unlikable, but like Penny, he's just a bit too middle-of-the-road to really carry the show and make the romance interesting. Due to the weakness of these two characters, this can never been a Ross-Rachel or a Pam-Jim romance, the show has to rely almost entirely on its geek humor, and Sheldon is starting to take center stage as the real star of the show. In fact, his scenes with Penny are always more interesting than the Penny and Leonard ones.
"Legends never die. Networks kill them..."
"Crimefighters...don't cry...(HONK!)"
"あなたの弾丸は私に害を与えることができない。私の翼は鋼鉄の盾のようである!"
"This is my childhood. Don't mess with my childhood..."
"You just became part of a bigger universe. You just don't know it yet..."
I never miss an episode of this show. Probably one of my favorite shows on TV. Sheldon is basically the star of the show now.
I like Penny and Leonard, but I didn't care for the hiccuping with their relationship at the beginning of the season. Lame false start.
I like how they've built up the cast with Sara Gilbert's Leslie and Dr. Gablehauser. And they have been picked up for a full season order.
I went to almost every episode taping last season. After the strike they were doing 6 day turnarounds. It's interesting because sometimes I think they pick lesser takes for the TV edits than what they do live. In the case of the big Penny/Leonard kiss on the season finale, they took the last take when they told the audience to STOP hooting and hollering because we were so excited about what was happening. The last take just didn't have quite the energy as some of the other ones. But I mean, this is a show where they've had to tell the audience to tone their reactions down because they were so into it.
Last episode kind of fell apart in the third act. But it's been nice to go into Raj's apartmet this season. Also getting to see his parents again including Brian George (Babu from Seinfeld).

All free. Just have to arrive early and be prepared to wait a while. But it's a lot of fun. The show is always taped at WB Studios in Burbank, CA.

Really like this show, Sheldon is definitely the funniest on there, Leonard is good, I just get so tired of his whiny voice of every time.
I lived with Sheldon. I kid you not. My ex-roommate probably gets mistaken on the street for the guy, and was equally annoying. He was not genius, but anything he ever read a book on he felt he was an expert on... much to the annoyance of many doctors. He also hated humanity and was prepared to welcome our new robot overlords when the revolution came.
"He lived hard and died stupid."
Episode 2.05: "The Euclid Alternative"
It airs tonight at 8 PM Eastern.Leonard and his friends stage an intervention to make Sheldon confront his longstanding fear of driving.
Great episode. Sheldon is truly the star of the show now. But Leonard's delivery of, "Ahh, the pet store" was perfect.

Sheldon's virtual driving attempts were hilarious, even if we couldn't see the screens. "Is that why I'm sitting on the streets of Fallujah in a ramped-up Humvee?" "You know the pale-blue of Luke Skywalker's lightsaber? Before it was digitally remastered?" "How did you get on the second floor of the Glendale Galleria?" LMAO!!!
I guess Leonard has completely given up on Penny after just their one date? After all the stuff in the first season, he now just seems to see her as "one of the guys" whenever she's in the same room as him and doesn't act like he used to around her.
And the final scene with Sheldon and the two female janitors was really funny. I'm assuming it's a spoof of some movie, but I have no idea what. From the way Sheldon was dressed in a cloak, I want to see Phantom of the Opera.
Look how both Penny and Leonard reacted when they were in the presence of each other's dates in the second episode this season. They both still got it bad for each other. Penny just doesn't feel she's good enough for Leonard, and Leonard tried to help her get past that in a very ill-advised way.
I just find it funny that Penny seems to spend all of her spare time now with them. It's almost like she doesn't have any other friends.

Episode 2.06: "The Cooper-Nowitzki Theorem"
After a week off, a new episode airs tonight at 8 PM Eastern.A young grad student's attraction to Sheldon confuses everyone, including Sheldon himself.
Episode 2.07: "The Panty Pinata Polarization"
It airs tonight at 8 PM Eastern.Penny vows to get revenge on Sheldon when he bans her from the apartment for a series of petty infractions.
With last night's episode, I'm ready to officially declare The Big Bang Theory... THE FUNNIEST SHOW ON TELEVISION! Tell your friends.
The Office sucks too badly to even be in contention these days, 30 Rock is still way too inconsistent, and only Worst Week deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as this increasingly excellent geek comedy. It's still far from perfect, but with the Leonard and Penny romance having taken somewhat of a backseat, and the writers tightening their belts and delivering tidier, more Sheldon-centric episodes this season, there can really only be one winner.
As usual, this week's episode was packed with great laugh-out-loud moments, starting with a not entirely factually correct discussion about Superman's laundry methods, and the episode built expertly to the hilarious climax, where Penny gives a weak-kneed, flabbergasted Sheldon a napkin signed (and wiped) by Leonard Nimoy, which leads to yet another great Penny/Leonard moment in the form of what I can only assume was Leonard's first hug. Pure TV gold.
With Batman having delivered a rather excellent seasonally themed episode last week as well, I'm having to re-evaluate my aversion to christmassy episodes.
Jim Parsons played that final scene to utter perfection. My brother and I could not stop laughing. That was pure gold!
Sheldon: "I have Leonard Nimoy's DNA!? All I need now is a healthy ovary and I can grow my own Leonard Nimoy!!"
Penny: "I'm only giving you the napkin, Sheldon."
LOL!!
