The show's pretty good, I don't understand why It would be getting low ratings... And I wish people would stop hating on the series! Give it a chance, people!

I really wanted to like it, so much so that I gave the first episode another chance after initially dropping it 15 minutes in, but there's just no saving grace for this show. It really is the worst kind offensive network drivel you could possibly imagine, and I'm astonished it's even getting half the viewers it is.

15 minutes! You lasted longer than I did, happy. Of course, I have to admit I watched the entire pilot. I'm still trying to figure out how that happened.

It's too bad. I had hoped for something with more of an edge and, of couse, more intelligent writing. KR was goofy back in the day and loose with the continuity between episodes (with KITT's capabilities), but I suppose that was fine for then. I expected the best elements, largely the potential, to be mined with a new version, leaving everything else behind. Instead the new show seems to have embraced all that was bad about the original (and possibly made it worse?)

I remember Larson had been planning a movie that would start over from the beginning of the story and be about pg-13 level intensity. If that was still in the works, I'd imagine the current show probably torpedoed its chances. Too bad, because that would have been better.

Like I say weekly, I just think the show is fun. If NBC axes it, I won't be traumatized, but I just enjoy watching.

Not sure where the "pieces of Mike's past" being revealed were in this episode as indicated in the NBC.com blurb. He said a few things when the truth serum part of the poison was working, but I don't think they would qualify as revelations. I did like hearing Mike's actual opinions on the rest of the crew though. It wasn't much of a surprise when the drugged Mike told Sarah he loved her, but it was still sweet to see (awww).

I liked the idea of Mike and Sarah getting a new mission at the end of the episode. The whole "job is never done" thing worked for me. I'm still not clear where that hanger is (maybe California with the driving trip to Mexico last week?), but I liked the use of the cargo plane being specifically mentioned.

So are they trying to save money by not having all the cast in the same episode? The last two episodes have had an early "Where is this person?" and a reply that they were somewhere else. Last week it was Agent Rivai and this week it was Dr. Graiman. Maybe next week Torres will be meeting with someone "off-site."

i think they're going to have to do a "revamp" of sorts either in the next season or season 2 if it gets that far. i'm tired of the whole government agency aspect. in the original show, we had devon and bonnie. that's it. i know the foundation had employees, researchers, and what not. but we didnt see them in every single episode.

everything needs to be downsized in my opinion. keep sarah and charles, obviously since they're the counterparts for bonnie and devon. i want to see the old knight foundation back and do things they did in the original series. heck, as far as i'm concerned, the government agency everyone works for in this show is NOT the wilton knight foundation for law and government.

i would put you on my writing team in a second. that has been my exact problem with this new show. i'm really glad someone else agrees. i know they trying they're best to update the new show and give it it's own flavor. and i guess while trying to keep it fun they're trying to keep on par with today's one hour shows like csi by giving it more depth....i read an article where the creator of the new show said he felt it wasn't realistic for micheal to always be out on his own and for a small foundation to be fighting crime so he added all of this new 'kitt cave' stuff. but c'mon....things are way way waaayyyy too crowded.....

the whole appeal of the old show to me was the partnership between a man and his cool sidekick car.(or a really cool car and it's human sidekick. however you want to look at it.) the way they played off each other without too much else getting in the way. micheal knight seemed like he was more in control and the lone cowboy on a mission going from town to town. the new show seems like it's trying to be so many different types of shows at once while the whole theme of kitt and mike gets a little lost in the shuffle. this micheal knight seems more like a puppet all the time and it gets annoying to me.

i realize they can't just make a rehash of the old show but i really think they are missing the point of what gave the old show it's charm and made it so cool and popular with audiences.

I caught the last several minutes of a recent episode, and it had to be the worst several minutes of any network series I'd seen in awhile. The acting was on par with a soap opera, and I've seen better special effects in Star Wars fan-films. Val Kilmer sounded kind of cool as K.I.T.T., but lacks the distinct character that William Daniels' voice has. I felt embarrassed for Bruce Davison seeing him amidst this production of bland young actors and terrible attempts at "cool" dialogue.

I'm not surprised it's dropping in the ratings. The original was never anything special, but how every revival attempt since has managed to be so bloody awful is amazing.
