Iron Man Says He "Didn't Get" Batman Movie

When asked during an interview with MovieHole.net about the Batman sequel, Downey said that he "didn't get it. ... still can't tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character." He said that while watching the movie, it dawned on him, "I get it. This is so high-brow and so smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie." He then added, "You know what? [Deleted] DC comics. That's all I have to say and that's where I'm really coming from."

I'm supposed to care about what an actor thinks of a movie?

Right, because a cocaine addiction presented with absolutely no context of how the addiction came about totally insinuates a human being has no intelligence.

Sour grapes is all it is. This should convey his true feeling for the movie:

The guys that do "I'm a Marvel. And I'm a DC." must be doing a happy dance right now.
"Burning Man"? I think you mean "Burning Urethra" -- that place is a massive colony of venereal diseases being nurtured by their human servants. -zombie

That would seem kind of pointless when you act in 5 movies in the same year straight.

It seems more like he favors marvel over DC since the latter tends to coagulate inter-connecting plots.

I somewhat understand what he is talking about if you watch the first act with the bank scene.

He's not the first person to say he doesn't get what's going on in the movie. He's just the most famous.

That really sounds like a joke to me. On the off chance it isn't, well, nobody's perfect.

Yes. It's very clear cut. If you're willing to voluntarily take a drug that will damage your body and mind, (and possibly kill you) you're an idiot. It's not like someone forced him to take cocaine. He voluntarily started the addiction, and it his fault.

There are other signs that he is not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. One being that he dropped out of high school.

Uh yeah...this post is a little to ignorant for my taste.

Ill just say this is just a case of a Marvel guy taking a few jabs at DC. I mean we've all done it, when people find something amsuing, great, or funny, dont we always go "I dont get it" just so we can be different. He's ovbiously joking......

He was obviously insulting the movie, however, if a movie is too 'smart' for you, that may very well be your own failing.

None of this suggests he's unintelligent. All it suggests is that you ignorantly apply cliched ways of thinking to every possible context imaginable, which makes you in turn look stupid. It's not very clear cut and you shouldn't talk like you understand the lives of people you've never met, let alone use this faulty logic to say his opinion isn't valid about a MOVIE of all things.

Circumstances change everything. Plenty of high school drop outs are, in fact, intelligent people. Plenty of drug users are, in fact, as bizarre as I'm sure it sounds, intelligent people. Context is key, which is something you should be able to grasp, seeing as you're more intelligent than Robert Downey Jr., apparently.
