That's right folks, if you didn't already know; the Jason Statham action hit "Crank" is getting a sequel currently in production at the moment.
(Post if my source is right)

Was anyone else a fan of the first film?
I know I was!
And here is the plot summary of the upcoming sequel!

Chev Chelios launches himself on an electrifying chase through Los Angeles in pursuit of the Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart (which allowed him to survive the fall at the end of the first film) and replaced it with a battery-powered heart that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.

I hated the first movie, as it took forever to end. The first 40 minutes were great, but after you realized you were only 40 minutes into the movie when it felt like 90, the movie got bad. Plus that one sex scene was completed pointless and unneeded. Seriously, it seemed like they just needed a sex scene because it was the only way people would see it, and because they could not figure out a plot to go with the movie.

Secondly, how is there a sequel, he died?????

I gotta wonder how the sex scenes are even relevant in this one.
Doubt he's getting any static electricity from it.

Though yes, at the end of the first film right before the credits roll, Chev blinks and you hear two faint heartbeats.

Looks ridicules. I might rent it when it goes to the $1 redbox though.

I'm worried people are gonna hate the sequel, because of how over the top it is from the looks of the trailer.

I'll see it though, because I liked the first movie, because it's the perfect definition of an action movie, non-stop violence.

This sequel is gonna be more dizzying than the first.

If another sequel comes, I bet they'll replace his heart with a potato (whoever gets the reference gets a cookie).

I like Jason Statham. But I've hated nearly every movie he's been in that I've seen. Crank was just awful on every level, even worse than Transporter 2, which I didn't think was possible. This guy would be great with a good script.

Why was Crank awful to you?

Sorry, I just like it better if you have a reason to dislike a movie.

It's simple. I just thought it was awful. I didn't like it all. I'm all for fun, over-the-top action movies, but I found Crank to just be downright, out-and-out bad.

I think in a lot of ways Jason will ALWAYS be type casted in Action movies as the ultra bad ass.
Seems like he doesn't care and he has fun doing it.

Definitely. I have met Statham and he's a really cool, nice guy, so I just wish I found more of his movies entertaining. The first Transporter had its moments, and I liked seeing him as a bad guy in Cellular.

I loved Crank. The idea of a sequel is absurd, and so they seem to be embracing the absurdity. I think it's great.

Have you seen Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch?

He also starts in those films, and they're crime/drama films.
