First off, not to be rude but does Nessie even exist? I mean, there are a dozen hoaxes of that thing, it's clear that it doesn't exist.

    THANK YOU.

Assuming Nessie is just a big plesiasaur Godzilla would defeat it easily. But come on guys, lets give these Godzilla threads a rest or else we'll see a bunch of padlocked threads by the end of the weekend.

I know that. But, why would you think that something that doesn't exist beat a fictional monster?

Yes but Nessie isn't a mainstream or niche fictional character.

    Isn't mainstream, you say?

The Loch Ness Monster, while not in as many movies, is most certainly mainstream. Almost everyone over the age of ten has heard of her.

As for who would win...if Nessie somehow dragged Godzilla to the bottom of the Loch and kept him there, it's possible Godzilla would drown. However, he'd do a lot of damage to her first, and she doesn't have claws or fangs.

It doesn't help that Nessie is more than likely a passive creature, who wouldn't want to start a conflict with a thirty-story lizard anyway. Godzilla wins by merciless beat-down.

Godzilla can't drown. There have been quite a few films where Godzilla has spent very long amounts of time underwater. One film explains that Godzilla has been resting underwater for almost 3 years.

Godzilla has also spent long periods of time buried underground. He's also traveled through molten earth and survived in outer space.

Godzilla has also been buried inside an iceberg, covered in toxic sludge, trapped inside a volcano, been brough back to life through another monster's life force, was hit by an articifial black hole and survived a blast from an absolute zero cannon.

    Godzilla can't drown.

Well said, DG. I mean Godzilla survived everything that could've killed him but didn't. Drowning won't work.

The Loch Ness monster doesn't have a known body weight, height or type. It's true that The Loch Ness monster is a mysterious creature and may not be like any other creature on Earth but that doesn't mean it has combat abilities. I say neither.

Godzilla is also one of those monsters that's practically immortal. While the original 1954 was indeed conclusively wiped out, another one showed up a year later to take it's place. Godzilla died via an internal nuclear meltdown in Godzilla vs Destroyah, but the radioactivity he was giving off was enough to revive and strengthen Godzilla Junior. Godzilla was blown to pieces in Giant Monsters All Out Attack but his heart continued to beat.

People from the future actually tried to erase Godzilla from history in Godzilla vs King Ghidora. Despite their efforts, the plan failed and Godzilla was created anyway.

As Crow T Robot once said, "Even if Godzilla loses he's still number one in my book."

In other words, you can't stop The Big G. He'll never die regardless of what anyone does.

As Crow T Robot once again, "Even if Godzilla loses he's still number one in my book."
    Same here.

Well, in that case, doesn't this negate the entire purpose of these "Godzilla vs ___" threads? Godzilla wins. End of story.

There's some monsters who could crush Godzilla but they've yet to be named.

Well there were a few movies where Godzilla (playing the bad guy) was beaten or incapacitated by an opponent but not killed: King Kong vs Godzilla, Mothra vs Godzilla, Godzilla vs Mothra, Tokyo SOS. Films portraying Godzilla as good, neutral or the lesser of two evils usually end with Godzilla as the winner.

The first movie is really the only one is which Godzilla was wiped out without a chance of returning. But again, another Godzilla showed up either way.

Ever since I was young, I've always researched Nessie. The most possible candidates are an eel or mammal. Etheir, way Godzilla would cream Nessie.

Seriously, what is with all of these Godzilla vs. name that monster/robot threads? Most all of them say Godzilla anyway. As for this, I do believe that there is a Loch Ness Monster, or at least in the possibility of such a creature. But if we were to have a match between what we think Nessie looks like and Godzilla, Godzilla would win, even though I think Nessie would put in a better fight than Jaws would.
