The appeal has been there, no doubt. However, we also need to remember that this is the fourth summer Olympic games held in a city under authoritarian rule, with the biggest and most significant issue being the whole Tibet thing (I understand that Tibet is holding its own Olympics).
That being said, while I haven't heard of any boycotting going on, nonetheless, I will watch the Olympics, but not the opening ceremonies. I'm not what you'd call a fan of the Olympics, but they have always interested me, so I will watch the games themselves at least. It's not everyday you get to see events like rhythmic gymnastics or synchronized swimming.
Cartoons aren't "just for kids"...but they're not just for adults either. They're for everyone.
