That is up to the moderators to decide, but they have renamed the CN Forum the Cartoon Network Cartoon Forum and moved all the Live Action discussions here, hence why I started it here.

I'm liking Ben and Gwen's actors so far. Not so sure about Grandpa yet, though.

I'd like to contribute the argument that it's strongly related to a Cartoon Network cartoon.
Anyhow, this is much better than I thought it would be so far. If Ben had a bit more energy, he'd be perfect for the role. (which is odd, considering how enthusiastic he was in the interviews and stuff)
You have to feel sorry for Ben here. Sure, he was a self-centered hothead in the series, but he doesn't deserve this.
Heh. That Grey Matter part was pretty funny. And well animated too.

I was wondering where the thread was. Ya'll should've mirrored this in the CN forums.

Exactly why did you use a letter rating, sir? On this forum it's kosure to use numbers?
Respectfully,

I hope this movie is worth all the hype! D:
EDIT: The show's theme song!
Cool transformation. Diamondhead, Yay!

All the other Ben 10 talkbacks have been done with a letter rating, so for consistency's sake a letter rating was used.

Ok, I will admit the laser-wrench is cool.![]()
So the movie was about Johny Tambourine with Ghost Freak's shtick.
Why did they use the only non-passable looking CG for the final fight? Listen to your CG guys: fur is hard.
And the parents: unexpected but actually enjoyable.
"Burning Man"? I think you mean "Burning Urethra" -- that place is a massive colony of venereal diseases being nurtured by their human servants. -zombie
This is great for a TV movie, even better considering I wasn't expecting Ben 10's first live action foray into being this interesting, but hey, I was wrong, and I'm not even in the demographic. However, some of the scenes are a bit ridiculous, basically any of Ben interacting with the other school kids and that ending scene with Gwen and her last-ditch effort for an attack ('Eons' reaction to it was a bit off).
Example of school scene:
Ben: "Could you just give me a talent?"
Girls: "What do you think this is, a talent sale?" *waits three seconds* "Oh yeah hahahahaha" *high fives*
Wow... not only was that a horrible way to react at anything, but it was also completely mean in every way in the context of the scene, almost to the point of being stupid (in a funny way). Still, it's better then handfuls of dialog from Jimmy's Head.
Also, I gotta say, even though the transformation scenes aren't really spot on (I wish they kind of just hid him behind a glow like a digimon transformation if they really needed to, instead of showing little bits of transformation, since it took me out of the experience a little), the 3D alien designs are great. Like, really, really great considering the budget. They're just so stylistic and convincing in their movement.
Now, for the actors, Ben was pretty spot on for the most part, lacking just a bit of energy (but I kind of preferred it like that) compared to his cartoon counterpart. Gwen was less loudmouthed, which is great considering I never really liked her character and she was more identifiable this time around. Grandpa was a bit off-kilter in the movie and a bit more soft-spoken, but I got past it after the first few scenes. Ben's parents are awful, though. These parent types worked better for Mandark then they do here, where they seem more like an afterthought. Eon was a bit over-the-top for a baddie, I don't get why all villians have to talk with a forced evil grin and a raspy undertone. Also, the two adults putting on the talent show were hilarious. Great character interactions right there. The other people were good in general.
The action scenes reminded me of all the good fights in a Power Rangers episode, but sometimes hit detection was off and punches that flung characters to the other side of the room weren't the best choice but understandable as to why they stuck with scenes like that. Gwen wasn't nearly as acrobatic or flexible as she could have been, even for a real-life actor, Gwen's scene with pulling a wrench out of Grandpa's pocket should have been a bit swifter. She was like this even before her magic (which... I still think is lame that they added that to the series, but personal opinions aside) so there shouldn't be a problem.
Overall, this was a great live-action addition to a network known for Cartoons. I don't see any problem in having things in this nature as long as they are based off of any original series and have a big enough budget to portray the franchise accurately. I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to this one, and I'm not a huge Ben 10 fan (I catch an episode every once and a while).
A for the movie. I'm not being generous either. Good showing for a Cartoon Network production.
Yeah, that was defiantly a lot better than it had any right to be. I'm amazed that it transitioned into live action so well. Personally, I wouldn't mind a sequel, if only to show more of the aliens in live-action. (come on, you know Upgrade or Ghostfreak would look awesome) The only real fault is that they opted for Wildmutt in the last fight over Fourarms. I mean, Fourarms is the most used alien in the series, and the final fight would have worked perfectly with him.
7/10
Not a bad movie at all. I still perfer the cartoon though, but that's just me. The opening sequence was very well done. The scene in the restraunt with the machines going haywire was really funny. There were two disappointments that I had with the movie though. First, Ben's parents were annoying and irrvelent to the movie. Second, I wish Ben had transformed more and gotten his other forms into the action. For example, the scene with all the shooting underneath the hardware store, Ben just stood there and did nothing.
Not bad, I knew it was going to be good anyway. The actors did a good job especially Robert Picardo but I do have a few problems, the parents they did get on my nerves and so did the "popular girls" who are in my opinion well it's not the B-word but it's something worse, let's just say it brought back some bad memories for me. But overall, this is CN's best effort into live action.
From the sound of it, this is turning going to be a fun ride. I've honestly been shaking in my boots waiting for this film to hurry up and play.![]()
Director Winter, ask for the sequel to be done for a theater release!
