God, I'd kill to see this on the big screen.
Don't think I ever saw a thread for this, but just curious if anybody else had seen it? I was in Southern California over the weekend and saw it Sunday morning. It's playing at The Landmark in West L.A. until Thursday, so you better hurry if you still need to see it. (I believe it only screened in L.A. and New York.)
Anyway, it was great to finally see one of my favorite movies on the big screen. The print looked great, and the new additions (most of which seemed minor) were effective without being distracting. Only a few new things stood out for me, most notable of which was the shot of the dove flying away at the end, which now features a much more appropriate background shot of the city skyline that finally matches the rest of the scene. Also, the new addition of putting Joanna Cassidy's face over the stunt woman's during Zhora's death scene was very well done and made the sequence much more effective.
Overall, it was really just great to finally see Blade Runner on the big screen. The Landmark is a great theater if you've never been; when you purchase your ticket you get to actually choose your seat, and then an employee escorts you to it. If I lived closer, I'd go there all the time.

Not it will most likely do any good, but I encourage any interested parties to sign this petition.

I was disappointed it wasn't a wider release. I believe it only screened at one theater in L.A. (The Landmark) and one theater in New York City, and that was it.
Still, it was great to see, and I'm glad I was able to catch it. The Landmark was supposed to only show it from the 5th-12th, so I would have missed it if that was it, but they extended it's screenings due to good business.

Yeah, I really wish this had a wider release. Still, I cant wait to get my hands on the upcoming DVD boxset.

I read about this and this scene has me concerned the most. They said they brought her in again to help re-enact this scene so they could digitally put it in (with her face), and they said she it works because she hasn't aged much, but then again, that's to be taken with a grain of salt. Did you feel it was truly seamless?
It's going wide! Whoo! Well, not completely wide, but to art houses at least. At last, after decades of waiting! I will definately be in the theater.

They did an excellent job, and it looks like her face has been in those shots all these years. I was worried at first, too, because it sounded like they just reshot all of her stuff and inserted it into the film. But they filmed new shots of her going through the motions, and then just pasted her face over the stuntwoman's. It was a flawless change.
In the scene where Deckard talks to the reptile owner, Harrison Ford's lines were apparently out of sync with his lip movements, so they actually had his son, Ben Ford, lip sync to the lines and then superimposed his lips over his dad's. I didn't even know that shot featured such a digital change until I read about it online afterwards.
Seriously, they did an excellent job handling the digital changes. It's like, you notice the things that are new, but they don't actually scream out "This is brand new!", you know? They're done very subtly, and they're done very well. I can't wait for the collector's set DVD. I'm hoping to find it under my tree Christmas morning.![]()

Plus, if you don't like the Final Cut, fear not! The DVD will contain ALL versions of the film in crisp high-quality and anamorphic widescreen. Hell, it hasn't come out yet and it's already selling off of the shelves at Amazon!

Yeah, I liked what Ridley Scott had to say about including all the different versions. (Paraphrasing) "Different people like different versions, so I wanted the fans to be able to have whichever is their favorite." Hey, Ridley, give George Lucas a call.
I'm curious about the workprint version, since I've seen all the others, but so far the "Final Cut" is definitely my favorite.
