Turncoat Michael returning to 'Lost'

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Turncoat Michael is making a "Lost" `comeback. Harold Perrineau, who plays the character last seen betraying his fellow crash survivors to save himself and his son, will return to the show next season.

ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson didn't offer any details Wednesday of what's in store for Michael. He also didn't say whether Walt, the son played by Malcolm David Kelley, will be seen again.

The pair fled the mysterious island where the crash victims were struggling to survive against the dangerous "Others," with desperate Michael turning over his friends in exchange for escape.


The network had planned to make the "Lost" announcement at Comic-Con International, the comic book and pop-culture show starting Thursday in San Diego. But McPherson, speaking to a meeting of the Television Critics Association, was pressed for the information.


McPherson initially balked at talking, instead joking about what the announcement might be.


"I've cast Don Imus on `Lost,'" McPherson quipped.
Earlier this year, ABC said will run for three more seasons, concluding in 2009-10. The series will return for its fourth season in January.

Speculation-wise, this all but confirms some theories that Michael and Walt were picked up by the freighter and didn't make it home and how they got relatively close to the island besides the big electromagnetic disturbance from season two.

Gosh if he shows up in a flash forward, that'd be a good shocker. But more importantly I hope his return resolves some fan speculation from season two

We will be seeing more flash forwards and flashbacks.

Jack and Claire will realize they are siblings on season 4.

What we saw with Jack and Kate was not the end of the show, says Lindelof "The show has never really been about getting off the Island. There is this whole chapter of the story that takes place off the Island"

Harold Perrineau shows up and discusses his character, acknowledges that he will again be a "regular" on the show, confirms that we will be seeing him earlier in Season 4

We could potentially get another The Lost Experience during the hiatus between Season 4 & Season 5

It is confirmed that the Richard Alpert character may not appear at all next season, or if so, probably in a limited fashion. Makes sense given the actor has committed to the show Cane.

We will get Libby’s story this year, it will not be disappointing, and it was hinted at that she may have worked for DHARMA.

The Orientation film was shown at the end. I wonder how long before we see it online...

Allawitz holds up a rabbit marked “15.” A nearby shelf is marked “16.” A small earthquake ensues. End of film.
ABC launches the 16-episode fourth season of "Lost" early next year.
