    "WWE RAW" Talkback (Spoilers)

    Like This Thread!
One Night Stand saw John Cena overcome the odds once again to remain WWE Champion. The WWE Draft is now six days and 23 hours away. In this time of uncertainly, how will the RAW Superstars react?

The day after One Night Stand
    June 4, 2007

After a night of Extreme Rules at One Night Stand, Raw Superstars will arrive in Tampa, Fla., in an extremely uncomfortable situation, awaiting their uncertain fates as the WWE Draft looms closer – just seven days away.

John Cena successfully defended his WWE Championship against The Great Khali in a Pinfalls Count Anywhere Match, pinning the giant’s shoulders for the first time in his career. Who will be next to challenge the Chain Gang commander?

The Hardys arrive in Tampa as the World Tag Team Champions after successfully defending the titles in a high-impact Ladder Match against The World’s Greatest Tag. A post-match scuffle in the trainer’s room between these teams at One Night Stand showed these two teams still have unfinished business.

Finally, the proof was in the pudding for Candice Michelle, who nearly drowned the Women’s Champion, Melina, in their Pudding Match. Candice made the champion tap out at One Night Stand in the chocolate goo, but will she be able to do it again if she’s given a title opportunity in the future?

Don’t miss all the action on Raw, Monday night at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

I think they're finally doing the Vince goes 500% nuts angle that has been teased in many ways for years and years. This could make for some great TV. Well great Vince acting. Boy, Vince saved that opening segment with his top-notch acting. at those crazy sounds. at his insane faces he made at the end of the segment.

Its segments like this that make me think Vince McMahon can be one hell of an actor if he wanted to be. He'd get an Oscar for sure.

A cryme tyme sighting. Hey remember when they were supposed to be the #1 contenders for the tag titles? Another dropped angle the WWE didn't bother to finish.

I just have to say that Candice Michelle with Cryme Tyme has to be the SCARIEST thing I have ever seen.

    EDIT: Oh my God:
GET. GET. GET. GET. GET. GET. GET.

I know commenting during the show is looked down upon, but I can't help it. I'll have to save the rest of my remarks for later though, or I'll be hitting edit over and over again.

I don't think I've laughhed that hard in months. God bless Vince!!

Would it be crazy if I said I haven't enjoyed Orton more now than ever before with this new gimmick he has? I look forward to his matches now and his intensity has never been better. Of course this will lead to him losing to HHH when he comes back, but its better now than him in the doghouse.

I was pleasantly surprised when the Hardyz lost. It was totally unexpected and something that might lead to the Hardyz getting singles pushes in separate brands.

I am very curious as to who Mr Mc Mahon is going to bring in next. Perhaps another Hogan run?

Umaga/Khali did not get the "2 titans finally collide" reaction from the crowd.

overall thanks to Get Get Get Get ( ) and other Psycho Vince moments, this was a very good RAW)

Vince appeared to have lost a lot more than the ECW Title at One Night Stand. The chairman has had his moments over the past few years, but he seemed completely out of it in the ring with John Cena. This wasn’t the ego that led him to make out with Candice, challenge God or declare himself the Doctor of Hardcore, this was certifiable.

Man, I can’t remember the last time Cryme Tyme was in the ring on RAW (and the white announcer no longer says ‘pop a 40 and drop your rolly’ or whatever, I guess WWE finally thought better of that). I was more happy to see Nitro and Melina together again. Granted, the kept taking the focus off of them to show Candice waiting in the ring, but I was still happy. Nitro & Kenny are really put a lot of effort into this team, using their athletic gifts in tandem. They were more or less just thrown together to give them something to do, but the two have tried to run with it.

WWE seems unwilling to let Chris Masters do anything. I say this all the time, but there is no reason he can’t be Intercontinental Champion and a good Intercontinental Champion. At the very least he deserves better than being the Italian 1-2-3 Kid’s designated jobber.

The only surprise in the Orton-Flair match was the sudden commercial break as the action was getting started. Everything else went as I expected. The Nature Boy never had a chance.

Speaking of never had a chance, Torrie found herself in a similar situation. While I think the Back-Stabber is a little too ‘appropriately named’ I’m glad to Carlito use it on Torrie again and put Torrie Wilson totally behind him. This is very cool.

I burst out laughting when King asked JR if the Hardys could be split up as a result of the draft. I don’t know if Ross dodged the question because he actually knows that Matt is SmackDown or if he thought it would be better to “not know.”

I had a feeling from their reaction after McMahon made the match that Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch sought the Hardys out hoping that the boss would run into them and make the match—and that’s exactly what happened (loved Jeff’s facial expressions during the backstage segment). Cade & Murdoch waited for the opportune moment and they took what they wanted and showed Matt and Jeff who they really are.

Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night?! I had high hopes we might finally get a real GM for RAW and maybe even one for ECW. If they are picking names out of a tumbler, someone needs to do it for the Tuesday night crew. They can’t just throw Tommy Dreamer up there and in the name of all that is holy they can’t put Lashley in charge of that.

I loved how Jim Ross basically said “send your letter to Jerry “The King” Lawler…” when he made the comment about Khali and Umaga working together.

Since it wasn’t enough to have beaten Umaga and have beaten The Great Khali, apparently the only thing left for John Cena to do was beat them both at the same time. Heck, they may be having this draft primarily to find some people Cena hasn’t embarassed by beating them again and again over the last three or so years he’s basically been champion. I like John Cena, I really do, but other than his little thing with Edge, we’ve gotten very little out of his title reigns when it comes to a good story that drives the RAW brand. Until WWE allows Cena to get beaten and I mean really beaten and then beaten again, “traditional wrestling fans” as JR would say, will have zero reason to respect him and at this point, even that may not be enough.

Vince suffered through DX, Austin returing, and getting his head shaved at WrestleMania, and it took losing to Lashely to finally drive him over the edge. Still, psycho Vince is the best thing on Raw right now. I can't remember laughing so hard at a Raw show since HBK's Hogan imitation.

I guess Orton got tired of giving Flair concussions.

Jerry screwed up. How can the Hardyz get split up in the draft when they're already on different shows.

Cena seems to be done with that marine gimmick. Maybe we'll start hearing some raps again.

This was a surprisingly good Raw.

Vince was great throughout the entire show. He'd just stand there with that look in his eyes like he was a serial killer or something. He can be truly scary when he wants to be.

That was surprisingly entertaining, especially coming off such a predictable PPV. (I sort of mentally tuned out during the main event though. I think that's reflex now since Cena will undoubtedly always OVERCOME ZE ODDS , especially on cable.)

Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night? Didn't we do this last year? Is this like annual now?

I hope the Draft shakes things up a lot, but then again...this is the WWE creative team we're talking about. I don't think they've REALLY shaken a thing up in about...oh...five years?

Trying to get into this, but TNA and Smackdown really showcase pretty much everyone I like, especially with the absence of HBK.
I'm getting to like Cena, though, and I'm glad he retained the title. Too bad about the Hardyz, though. Ric Flair, too. I wanted him to win that, although I'm not his biggest fan after his years of rivalry against Sting.
When the Vince storyline wasn't annoying me, it was boring me.
I think the best part will be hearing about being there from my girlfriend, who went with a big wrestling fan friend of hers.
I'll give this another shot next week, though, especially since the draft will pretty much tell me what I'll be watching from now on.

Some pretty fun stuff tonight. Vince going insane is way overdue, and I thought Candice worked very well as part of Cryme Tyme -- that might be something they want to consider continuing. I actually found her not to be annoying, for once, and she seemed to be having a good time.

A lot of the show is kind of a blur because of some health issues I was going through (and thankfully it's over now), but those are my thoughts.

McMahon Appreciation Night? Again? We just had that in January! The man is pet coon goofy, cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, etc., but doesn't want to take himself off TV yet. What's he waiting for? HHH to return and pedigree him into a concussion?

Cena didn't know what to make of Dr. McNutty. Then again, about 75% of the audience doesn't know, either.

Candice & Cryme Tyme. Totally sweet. And they just got rid of the last surviving member of 2 Cool. Meh. Nitro & Dykstra lose again, but JR is trying to build these kids up? Oh, yeah, his boss is a nut.

So Cade & Murdoch turned back heel on the Hardys. No shock there, but it'd be nice to have more than two face teams on the show after the draft, because if Matt remains on Smackdown, and Jeff on Raw, the only face teams will be Cryme Tyme & the Highlanders. Not fun. It's been more than 18 months since Cade & Murdoch's last run ended courtesy of Big Show & Kane (Taboo Tuesday '05), so to say this is long overdue is appropriate.

Have read that Khali has a knee injury. I think he's going on the DL very shortly, especially after back-to-back jobs to Cena.

+100000 credits to Torrie for recalling a nearly 6 year old skit she did with Dr. McNutty. Too bad she was squashed in about a minute.

So who's next for Santino Marella? Carlito would be a good choice. It all hinges on the draft next week.

My VCR didn't record it despite me having programmed it to, so I'm going to have to catch AM RAW or RAW on Telemundo this week to see it, especially since this episode sounds hillarious.

Vince was very funny. I'm hoping they do something similar to Ric Flair's angle in WCW where they actually carted him off to a nuthouse. Now, the Nature Boy deserved much better than that, but with Vince it could be amazing.

You know what will make me care about Santino Marella? Seeing him face Chris Masters 8 billion times.

Yeah, that works. Take a wrestler that's yet to impress me, throw him against a wrestler that's never impressed me, and you have gold.

How? The man has the weakest offense ever, and no-sells everything. If he managed to injure himself, then he's going to put Kevin Nash to shame.

Uncreative doesn't want to give him other opponents just yet. That's the sad part.

I'm only going by what I've read on other newsboards. The reason Khali hasn't done house shows, other than horrid workrate, is the fact he's working on some movie you might've heard of: "Get Smart". The man needs time off like the rest of us.
