From what I've heard this PPV has been good.
And yes for Randy winning but I would have liked a clean win better than a cheap one. Oh well. He's still awesome sans this storyline crap.
lolz internet
It was obivious that Orton was gonna win it and good for him cause Mysterio in a title match at WrestleMania!? Yeah, right!Originally Posted by Mike Spartz

Very upset that Lashley lost to JBL. I mean he should at least lose to someone of bigger appeal like Angle or Orton.
Also not making sense is Rey-rey losing. I almost picked Orton to win, but after I heard of the Guerreros showing up, I changed my pick. Turns out they showed up backstage only. Thank God they didn't lower themselves even more by having Chavo turn on Rey-rey. THat would've made me sick.
The Taker/Angle match sounds like a great match. Always good when Taker busts out the Triangle.
Grampa: I say we call Matlock. He'll find the culprit. It's probably that evil Gavin MacLeod or George "Goober" Lindsay.
Bart: Grampa, Matlock's not real.
Grampa: Neither are my teeth, but I can still eat corn on the cob, if someone cuts it off and smushes it into a fine paste. Now that's good eatin'!
The way it ended it would seem their going for a triple threat at mania.
Taker/Angle was a MOTYC.
Taker and Angle put on the match of the year thus far ANYWHERE.
Orton is a talented guy and I don't doubt his in ring ability but Rey is just as talented and I really wanted him to go over. Losing to Randy like this just makes him look really really weak and that's not right - especially after he won the rumble.Originally Posted by email2003
Well if you think about Lashley's undefeated streak - seriously who the hell did he beat? Simon Dean? Nunzio? And take the rumble for example, if WWE really wanted to make him a threat then they would've had him eliminate someone big but instead he gets eliminated by Big Show and Kane. If you ask me, Bobby Lashley's "undefeated streak" was a joke and frankly JBL beating him was fine by me.Originally Posted by VCXZX
Tazz was more nonsensical than usual tonight. I'll take his advice and be sure to not practice my Melina entrance with an armoire and a fire extinguisher(?). That's a fact, in my opinion (also another excellent line from the greatest color commentator in the business today).
Cruisers were cool.
I am so glad the MNM-Hardy/Tatanka match was non-title.
Disappointed that Finlay's gonna feud with Lashley (he's too big for Fit to Kryptonite Krunch him and whatnot) and Rey losing. Orton just sucks soo bad. Terrible botching from him. You don't take Tornado DDTs on your ass, Randy. Seriously, Vince, you're pushing the wrong guy.
Benoit-Booker was meh. Nice to see the return of the Harlem Hangover though.
Taker-Angle was okay. It was like a mirror image of a Smackdown! a few years back, with Taker giving the Triangle Choke now instead of taking it, and with almost the same retarded finish.

I prefer Orton winning the match as he's really digging into the heel aspect of his character. Granted it really sucks to be Rey since he's been working in the wrestling business so long and hasn't had big gold in...ever? I think had Rey won, he should've went with the WWE title as calling him WHC just would sound weird.
-Angle/Taker
Crowd audio was pretty dead for both entrances. Although at least during Angle's entrance it was showing people with signs. UT's had a nice pop when the lights when out but that's about it.
I'll be honest, during the first 5-10min when taker was beating down Angle I was starting to get a little bored. Thankfully there was some back and forth between the two soon after otherwise I did not want to see Taker bury Angle in a match. The Angle Slam to the announce table was definitely a nice shot of adrenaline to everyone and from that point on the match was entertaining. Also Kurt took a sick bump to the neck after he got slammed into the steel steps and I was hoping he was ok and wouldn't need the match stopped. Even though the Undertaker is getting up there, he can still wrestle quick and for a second I thought the chokeslam to Kurt was gonna finish the match.
Loved Angle's multiple instances of the Ankle lock, especially the one out of the tombstone. Second Angle Slam was nice and high and looked beautiful. Uh oh straps are coming off! Then taker sits up. That was cool. I wished Angle had made taker tap just to solidify his reign a little more as champ but the main event's finish was good and didn't make either wrestler look bad. Great work by both men, gotta wonder what's in store for WM now since Angle/Taker doesn't seem over yet.
I'm happy with both outcomes of the two matches I saw and def looking forward to SD.
Yeah, that's almost right. I would've said ****, due to Randy killing much of the crowd's heat, some slowness that felt more restholdy than drama-building, and me hating the pin-at-the-same-time-as-a-tap finish that looked like was happening. Angle's throat bouncing off the announce table cover spot was pretty cool, as was the Tombstone countering spots. Overall it was leaps and bounds above most of the main events of the past year, but I wouldn't call it a classic.Originally Posted by and2
I would call it almost *****. It was like the Eddie/Brock match from NWO a few years ago in that it was slow in some parts. Difference being that match had a lot more emotion and story to it. The first 10-15 minutes where devoted to psycology while the rest of the match went to exite the fans. It was probably hurt in that Taker didn't sell the ankle lock well but its definately the best match of this year untill this point. (including indies). Lets just hope people don't go out saying "Kurt pulled a good match out of taker he is god" because both men did their job well and I would say Angle stepped up after his spotfest style the past few years. It was better than both mens best matches of last year (HBK/Angle, Orton/Taker at Summerslam)Originally Posted by PTurkey
Not a bad PPV. I really enjoyed it a lot.
I'll have to check out Angle vs. Taker now since so many of you are claiming it to be an early match of the year candiate, which I really doubt after seeing Joe/Daniels/Styles II and Rhino vs. Abyss falls count anywhere at Against All Odds.
Overall this No Way Out actually looked like it turned out well, I didn't watch it, but my brother did and he said it wasn't too bad. Let's hope Wrestlemania turns out good now because the way the card is shaping up now doesn't paint a very pretty picture.
I didn't watch but I'm happy to hear that Angle and 'Taker went out and delivered. I'm one of the very few people left not on the UT hate bandwagon (although he has tested my patience over the last few years) and it's good to know he can still go, even if it does take Kurt to do it. I'll be renting this one when it's released.
I just saw the Angle/Taker match for the 1st time, and it was a damn good match. A MOTY for sure. I really liked many sequences here including Angle Angleslamming Taker through the announcer's table, and then telling Nick Patrick to not count him out, as he doesn't want to win like that. You gotta respect someone like that.
Another great sequence was Taker and Angle reversing Tombstones, and countering their submission moves.
Only quibble I have is that I'm pretty certain Angle has tapped out before. To Benoit at least. So Cole was wrong there. I don't think Taker has ever tapped out though.
But overall, this was an awesome match. And perhaps Taker's best match by far in at least 3 years.

Didn't Angle tap out to Cena and his idiotic STFU on RAW once before?
I just watched the Angle/Taker match as well and must say I was impressed with Taker's technical skills in the match. It is definately a MOTY qualifier.
The only quibble I had was the ending. I'd have preferred if it was a clean win with no controversy considering Taker will most likely disappear again after WM so it really doesn't add to any storylines.
Yup. It's a signature. Go away if you're expecting something interesting here.
Yep, they both have. Like the Benoit-Angle Ultimate Submission match, where they tapped out several times. Only time I can remember Taker tapping is to an Angle Triangle choke while pinning him at the same time, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were more. So yeah, Cole saying that is stupid. WWE trying to retcon wrestling history? Sure sounds like it. Why? I dunno.Originally Posted by VCXZX

And does anyone know what the No Way Out theme song was? It seems like it was a 'real' song, but I don't believe they ever said.
