I've never seen the show but I thought it looked pretty decent for an action movie so I went to see it. My friend tells me that it caught the main points of the series though. It was an okay movie, nothing special but not awful either. It had a pretty interesting story and was a heck of a lot easier to watch than Chung's artwork (Mr. "I wanted it to be animated" can bite the fattest part of my rearend).

I guess it proves animated to live-action can work pretty well or perhaps better.

I'm going to wait for the DVD. I don't think this movie is anything special. Just another futuristic action flick IMO.

Rotten Tomatoes isn't the only one who hated the film...

You know, I don't really understand why all the hate. Did they ever watch the show? The movie was decent, nothing spectacular, but something entertaining. It had its moments of greatness, and its moments of suckitude. The action scenes should have been a lot better (after movies like The Matrix Trilogy and LotR, my action scale has gone up a lot), but doable. I did happen to see an episode of the animated series last week (I think it was the first episode, but I couldn't tell since it seemed like you had to know who the characters were already) while I was at my friend's house, and this seemed to go into more indepth detail on the world itself, which was its biggest point.

Overall though, I'm giving this movie 2.5 stars. Not the greatest, but I wasn't expecting it to be.

Anyone know what Chung's thoughts on it were? Did he like it? Hate it?

While I think it's hip on the inter-web to hate on Harry I usually find I agree with him.

I'd give it a shot if I was dying to see it.... but im not. I'll see it at some point and decide how I feel then.

Hey! It's a review on that sci-fi movie based on the cartoon about some girl's eyelashes catching a fly!

I can honestly say that I liked the movie more the 2nd time around when it was called Ultraviolet.

I liked Aeon Flux the movie way more than I ever liked the animated series, though.
And Charlize Theron is beautiful with black hair.

I'm with you on point number 3, but must diagree with the first two. I thought Ultraviolet was awful, and the Aeon Flux film didn't quite have the imagination and the excitement of the show.
