Welcome to Toon Zone, Zri USA. I think we can be a little bit more respectful than that of other people's opinions. People who aren't don't last long.

first i was joking pal, and second for a user i have never encountered before you seem to not like me. I was only implying that reverseing time makes a superhero way to powerful, and it almost ruined the first Superman Movie for me.

Well good thing you don't have to watch any previous films to watch this film then..

Yeah, I wasn't digging the whole time reversal thing. I'm all for suspending my disbelief, but wow. I let a lot of things slide in the first two movies (the amnesia kiss, Clark having to give up his powers to sleep with Lois, the high-frequency Luthor message only Superman and dogs could hear, Luthor magically figuring out kryptonite will kill him, even that giant cellophane S-shield he wrapped around that one guy), but that scene where he flew around the world until time moved backward still has me like "what the [profanity] was that?"

I don't know if I'd walk out of the theatre if that happened again, though. I'd probably groan and say "oh god" just loud enough to ruin the movie for everyone, though.

It sure as hell beats Superhorse.

Kal-El also learned lessons from it, he even made himself human because of that action, playing god with his adopted people, I doubt he'd ever do something that selfish agin, it's part of his acceptence of power and ability, time travel was'nt inaccessible back in the comics at that point either, If you allow suspension of disbeleif to be limited, why have a suspension at all? Be free and unbinded, and nothing is less clearer.

But thats pre-crsis superman the revamped current one is alot different. If a being is so powerful they could reverse time, what could possbly challenge them? And since you dun write the superman movies how the heck would you know he would never do something like that again..please. Thats why Batman is more popular then supes these days.

Nice outfit, but looks a little too much like Gene Hackman for my liking...
And why would Lex be running along the beach? I hope this isn't going to be a "hands-on" Lex who does his own grungework, like in the Donner films...

Spacey will absolutely own this role. He's not one to imitate and I'm positive this will be the most evil Lex's we'll see yet.

You know, from that angle Kevin Spacey reminds me of Detective Lubic from Masters of the Universe.

I found the Smallville news alot more exciting than those Luthor pictures. What's up with that hat?

Folks, head on over to Bluetights to find a new blog on pre-vis. You get tons of new shots here, including scenes of what the flying will look like, and at the end you also get the first real footage of Routh as Superman. As you will see, the blue on the suit is much better than the first shot.

Here are some caps from another board:

Here's a nice little thing I got from another board. Audio from the footage shown at the SDCC. It's still a bit static-y, but if you read along with this transcipt, you'll be fine.

You get to hear mostly everyone, including Lois and Supes. Imo, you'll be glad to hear that despite his looks, Routh really does sound a lot like a man.

    LARA V.O.

Why Earth, Jor-El? They're primatives, thousands of years behind us.

    JOR-EL V.O.

They will need that advantage, to survive.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    LOIS

Let's start with the big question. Where'd you go?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    LOIS

Did you find what you were looking for?

    CLARK V.O.

That place was a graveyard. I'm all that's left.

    MARTHA

Do you mean that you're the last? You're all alone?

    CLARK

    Yeah.

    MARTHA

    Oh, Clark.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    JIMMY

Clark has been doing a little soul-searching for the last couple years.

    BIBBO

    Must be tough coming back.

    CLARK

    Well, you know. Things change.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    RICHARD

    Richard White.

    CLARK

    Hi.

    LOIS

    Have you met the munchkin?

    CLARK

Well, it's great to finally meet you. I've heard so much.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    PERRY

Lois, three things sell papers: tragedy, sex, and Superman.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    LOIS

Perry just shoved him back into my life.

    RICHARD

Well, i'm sure you can find a way to interview Superman without bringin him back into your life.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    MARTHA

What about that girl you used to like? Lois Lane, the one you had me send all those postcards to?

    CLARK

    I don't know.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    LOIS

He's Superman. Everyone was in love with him.

    RICHARD

But were you? Where'd you find him?

    LOIS

    He got me.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    LOIS

Well, you're back. I bet you must be pretty happy about it.

    SUPERMAN

    Hello, Lois.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    LOIS V.O.

Clark, you've been gone a long time. But not even you can stop the world from spinning.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    LOIS

The world doesn't need a savior. And neither do I.

    RICHARD

Well, I realize that. This is just (...)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    LOIS

    This doesn't seem right.

    PERRY

    What doesn't seem right?

    LOIS

Winning an award for an article called "Why the World Doesn't Need Superman," but according to this newspaper, they do.

    Uh, Lois?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    LOIS

Clark, can I ask you something? You ever been in love? Sounds cheesy, I know. Taxi!

    CLARK

    (whistles)

    JOR-EL V.O.

Even though you've been raised a human being, you're not one of them. They could be a great people, Kal-El. They wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason alone, I send them you, my only son.

Any chance they will but a Batman reference in the movie? If I could ask Singer one question it would be that.

Not likely, at least for this film. Singer was even asked about BB at the Comic Con, and he stressed that these were 2 different films.

Phew. That's a nice change of pace. I'm really sick to death of people hating on this because it's more like the original movies and less like STAS.

As for Batman references... it depends on how the universes work. The original Batman film continuity took place with the original Superman movie continuity, (From Batman's little reference to Superman in "Batman And Robin.")

But it's more complicated now. Because Batman Begins starts a whole new Batman film continuity, (probably,) and Superman Returns has it's roots in the original Superman movie continuity, but after the second film skews into a tangent and creates an alternate (and probably superior) version of Superman 3 in the form of "Superman Returns." Now, the new Superman filmic contiuity tangent might co-incide with Batman Begins's continuity.

If it does, it might go like this: Superman establishes himself, and protects Metropolis for a couple of years in "Superman and Superman 2" (you have to mentally fast forward these into something more like the present.) Then Superman/Clark Kent goes missing for a couple of years. In the 2-year interum, Bruce Wayne, who himself was long missing, returns to Gotham and establishes himself as Batman. About a year after Batman emerges, then Superman finally makes his reappearance. or something like that.

Then you'll be happy to know I'm 100% with you guys. I was pretty nervous about this project when the earliest bits of information were still coming out, but the more I hear about it, the more excited I get. It sounds like it's taking the best part of the Donner movies (the grand, epic, mythological, iconic feel), and chucking out the cheesier bits that didn't work, which in my opinion is the ideal way to go about a Superman film.

Besides, it's nice to get a movie that isn't an origin story. Superman's origin is great, don't get me wrong, but everybody knows it, and it's already been told so many times that it's nice to see this movie going in a different direction.

Yeah, sorry, but I won't be hopping on that trolly with you guys yet. And Style, not because it's not like StAS, but because it lacks freshness and originality.

Not to mention that the dialogue posted above is just...horrid. Absolutley horrid. Sorry.
