George Clooney has "The Touch"?

The AllSpark reports via eTalk Daily that George Clooney is to star in the Live action Transformers Movie as Optimus Prime!

In an odd turn of events, eTalk Daily (a Canadian entertainment news and gossip program) is reporting that George Clooney will play none other than Optimus Prime is the upcoming Transformers movie. The reporter, Suzy Wahl, claimed that Clooney would star in the "animated feature" as Optimus Prime, and that while she wasn't familiar with the role, she was sure Clooney could make it "sexy".

Keep in mind that this news is still very much a rumour at this point, but it's certainly an interesting one.

Michael Bay directing? George Clooney as Optimus Prime?

I'm not sure if this movie is going to be GOOD, but it is going to be ENTERTAINING. Possibly in that rarified category with the Captain America movie.

My only Reply....

There's no script so only morons would think or report that George Clooney even knows what this project is....

If people are gonna ask Michael moronic things in the middle of the ISLAND they deserve to react to what he says.

1- There is no script
2- Anything Harry ever writes is suspect
3- Nobody is cast or has been approached even
4- I still want Cullen /Welker
5- Chill Pills are needed.

This could be one of those incidents where pre-planning got reported as an actual news item. Like the revelation that Micheal Bay would direct, which was disproven, only to be confirmed once the paperwork was signed.

whew!!! that scared me...
for a minute there, i thought he's going to remake that horrible movie "The Touch" which starred Michelle Yeoh. it was horrible the first time around, why make another.

A sexy Prime, huh? Too bad for him there aren't any female Autobots.

The real question is whether The Touch will be in the new movie. That alone would make me have to see it.

Sounds very unlikely coming from Clooney, who usually stars in good independent films. You can most likely consider this somewhat ridiculous fake news.

Peter Cullen playing Optimus Prime's voice is my one mandatory condition that must be met before I see this movie.

However the upcoming Cybertron figures have some that look feminine....so there could be a few fembots...

If they wanted to throw in a little diversity in this movie, I think Arcee being in it would be really cool. Having her voice actor, (Susan Blu was it?) play her again would be really cool. But, may not be necessary. Like everyone else who is interested in this movie, Peter Cullen and Frank Welker MUST be in this. You allow Michael Bay his choice of voices in the two leads.....

Ugh, don't wanna think about it. Surprisingly though, I won't mind pretty much any other voice they would get for the rest of the characters. Though it would be cool to have Cullen reprise his Ironhide or Soundwave voices as well if those characters are even in it.
